Lol, you can't go on bagging Karmicheal Hunt when we are full of praise for Nathan Fien. It's hypocritical! :D

not really..i think its quiet different... fein moved here as an adult..... he gave up his chances to play more SOO for qld , , served his apparenticeship with the warriors and his 3 year residency {grannygate not included}
and then swore his allegience to NZ.....
Hunt is a maori , born and bed here , he went over there when he was 14....he played in the same jnr teams as benji .{jnr roos}
But SOO was to big a draw card for him ...its really sad actually...
hell capt nathan cayless was born in aussie ,so was jason cayless , nightingale , frank pritchard , jake webster ,etc etc but their parents were kiwis , and bought up to be proud of their heritage... obviously he isnt

espcially with his benefactor hinting at sackings at the club ,,,

SBW back in league by 2010 is my call ....rugby in france is just so gay !!!!
is that why they call it Gay Paris!!! lol

Well no, I have to dis-agree with you!

Fien born and bred in Australia, comes over to N.Z plays for the Kiwis. Hunt born and bred in N.Z moves to Australia plays for the Kangaroos???

What's the difference????

The difference is Fein picked the only country to win the RLWC during his playing career hahaha! What a good dude, must feel awesome.

Sucked in Karmichael Hunt. One of the appealing aspects was seeing his lame ar$e sitting on the ground as a loser. He gave up his country for this and he got whooped by them.

LOL why are we bringing this up? Who cares if palyers ditched countries or played for however. Do you honestly think Hunt could careless? He considers himself an Aussie! End of that

Did you not see the game last night? Scratch that, by the way you comment usually we should know the answer.

The dude was in his haunches upset as hell. And he could "care less"? Yes, it's only a World Cup after all.

Keep up the good work, your posts are ever of the highest quality.

Like I said he's an Aussies so of course he'd be upset but not upset int he manner of wishing he was on the other side. No point dwelling on what could have been for him, he wasn't and see's himself as an Aussie and that is his choice. Do you actually think he cared about wanting to be a Kiwi in that moment? Hmm no. Wouldn't think so. Waste of time.

And incase you aren't aware but Channel 9's coverage ended straight after the commentators were talking, last night so the full replay of the post celebrations and Australian reactions wouldn't have been seen until the 10:30pm Fox Sports replay

He does not see himself as an Australian. He has said many times he would like to play for the All Blacks and the reason he chose Australia is to play State of Origin for Queensland.

Skinny, the coverage you get in Melbourne is entirely different to the coverage seen in Sydney. The coverage went till about 10:35PM in Sydney. They showed the entire presentation.

K Hunt is indicitive of the modern generation that don't want to achieve there goals with work, instead they take the easy path, the path that best serves there needs. Loyalty doesn't mean anything to them. $BW, K Hunt, Brad Thorn, they are just country jumpers and will swap allegiances as and when it suits there own purposes.

I reckon Hunt moved cause he wanted to be on a winning team. He was also in such great form that he was QLD and Ozzie Fullback. Now he plays off the bench for both teams and sometimes doesn't even make it.

I'd mostly agree there, but I think Thorn is a top bloke. Dunno why I think he's different, I guess he's been open and consistent about it he's an Australian League player, and a NZ union player. I think his intentions for representing either country were genuine too. Dunno why I feel that, just a hunch I guess.

I thought K Hunt genuinely considered himself Australian, and wanted to play with his mates for QLD and Aussie, paying back the input they've had into his game. When you hear that he still considers himself kiwi enough to want to play for the ABs, it makes you think. He must have been sitting there last night knowing what a special night it was for the country he supposedly feels an affinity for, but he was wearing green and gold and really had no right to celebrate as a NZer... I think that painful experience is "payment" enough for his decision, and from now on I'll consider him a true blue aussie and a respected opponent. Hope he gets the fb jersey back from Slater, he's a better player IMO.

Thorn is one of the worst offenders. If he feels an afinity to NZ why didn't he play for the Kiwis?
If he felt an afinity to Australia why didn't he play for the Wallabies?

He chose to play for the two strongest countries in each sport as a short cut to getting what he wanted, wins and the plaudits that go with them. I have very little respect for him. If he had choose to do it the other way around then i'd be in his corner, but he didn't, he went for the easy way, what was the easiest thing for him to do, so he wouldn't have work that little bit harder.

How can you stand there one year, grab the coat of arms with your right hand and stand tall and sing the Aussie anthem before a test. The next season your dressed in black and singing the NZ anthem?

It's bullshit.

Yeah I see your point mate... like I said it's really just a hunch of mine. If we just went on majority rules he served his two home countries in the sports they would most want to see him playing. Like it or not yawnion is our national game, and he's serving his country in that regard (remember he never expected to make the All Blacks, that is something he earned through hard work, training and practice...). He didn't take the easy route into union either... he plays lock, that's not like centre or number eight, positions that league players could quite easily make the switch to... it's a specialist position that he has picked up impressively.

I guess the root of my opinion is that a lot of us are blinded by our nationalism. It's possible for players to call two countries home. And there's no need to look cynically at every case. Thorn has played for the worlds best national teams in two codes. Won super 14, won NRL. I respect your opinion on his nation hopping, and where you're coming from. But I can't accept that he's taken an easy path to achieving some extraordinary things... and personally believe his dual national allegiance shouldn't be looked at so cynically.

I totally disagree here.

I am a fan of Thorn. You can be both Kiwi and Aussie can't you? Why do you just have to be one? Can't you love both equally? He went to Rugby because he couldn't contemplate playing for any other NRL club other than the Broncos. When he returned to league, he went back to the Broncos. When he moved to Canterbury, he was chosen to be in the All Blacks and DECLINED!!! saying that he felt he wasn't ready for it. He didn't get to wear the black jersey for another 2 years.

He went back to Rugby for the 2nd time because he was getting a bit old for League. He still wanted to play sports so he moved to Rugby. He is a one club league man and a one club rugby man. Do Broncos fan's berate him because he plays rugby? I don't think so. Do Canterbury fans berate him for playing for the Broncos? I don't think so.
