Up to eight players from the Junior Warriors Toyota Cup side are being investigated by NSW police after they trashed a Sydney hotel room hours after being knocked out of the finals.
A police spokeswoman said officers were called to the Holiday Inn at Mascot at 3am (local time) on Sunday after receiving reports a number of rooms had been damaged by players in the under-20s side.
Officers then helped staff remove the players from the hotel. Botany Bay police are still investigating the incident.
Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah this morning told 2GB radio host Ray Hadley the club had already spoken to the players involved and said their behaviour was ''completely unacceptable''.
Scurrah said the players had come together in a team room after their loss to the Sydney Roosters and at some stage ''breached club policy'' when they started drinking alcohol.
''Later on in the evening a small group of them have chosen to go to a couple of rooms and they've to be blunt they had a party,'' Mr Scurrah told Hadley.''They've continued to consume some alcohol and have a party, they've made an unacceptable amount of noise.
''Certainly they've made a mess - there are some isotonic drink stains on bed spreads, there was a lamp broken and they have generally messed up the room but there has been no walls kicked in or doors broken down.''
Mr Scurrah said that the eight players involved would be fined. He has also not ruled out further action being taken. The Warriors have reimbursed the Holiday Inn for the damage caused and the cleaning bill, as well as the guests who were affected by the noise made by the players.

Young guys are always going to do the odd stupid thing, and i'm sure most of us have done far far worse....i would agree there's a problem at the club, if it happens again in the near future.

Reported Junior Warriors have trashed their hotl in Sydney after the game. Police were called and they were thrown out of the hotel they were staying in. Warriors have apparently offered to pay damages and repremanded players involved. perfect finish to the season. how have we gone so far backwards?

Not good news but who dug this story up....
tbh this happens far more often that you think - it does sound like a total non-story. The article mentions there were no broken windows or walls.
Doesnt sound like much damage.

Imagine how many people use and abuse hotel rooms.

There are few players that will walk away scott free - some of these boys will even be upgraded to fulltime contract.
Thats the way it works - guys perceived with more talent get better treatment.
