Hi All,
Missed the first half of the Warriors first ever game in '95' queuing up to get piss at Erricson Stadium and wish I'd missed both halves of last weeks game against Manly - some things just can't be unseen.
Live in Papamoa with my son and his dog.
Guess the best way to introduce myself would be to post this letter to the editor I penned - it was at the end of last season but still seems apt:
Hey Warriors - you really really suck!
I don't mean really really suck as in you haven't played well the last round or
ten - I mean you REALLY REALLY SUCK as in you have misled this nation for the past 20yrs!
We had bought into your lie that you where a professional organisation, an organisation that was taking every step possible to win a premiership but it's now become apparent that the truth couldn't be further from the lie, what we now learn is that it's all been about 'roll'n-in-late' and 'putt'n-on-weight' - well... we've had enough and, as an extremely loyal support base, we deserve
so much much more.
We've spent hundreds of emotional hours, not to mention dollars, on you
with the understanding that you were a professional sports club - OHHHH... but the fraud of it all - it's now come to light that it's been nothing like that at all.... has it?
Ok - In hindsight it's been all far too obvious and to the rest of the NRL audience the signs have ALWAYS been there what with the dropped balls, the missed tackles, the gapping holes in defence, the poor
passes, the years of inconsistency, the inability to play out 80 minutes,
the innate ability to steal a defeat from the jaws of victory, and that
special skill - the one thing that the Warriors have actually always lead the competition in - and that's
the ability to buy in a skilled player and quickly turn him into anything but before bumbling along to a contract release - well....
It's not good enough, in fact it's been very, very, very disappointing.
Ultimately, Warriors, the way in which the club has presented itself for the last 20yrs has simply been FRAUDULENT and Instead of feeling excited about next year I'm already feeling bad for Issac and Roger.
Where to from here for you as a 'professional' organisation?
Regards.
