Miket, I recently went to Palmy to visit Horizons on work related matters and they took me out to the Moutoa Floodway, do you know it? Very impressive structure.
A distant relative of my father lost a lot of stock back in the 40's with flood in the area. I haven't seen it myself but my father, who was a contracted driver to the council at one stage, spent some time doing some remedial work to one of the stock banks many moons ago.
Born in Auckland, raised between Brisbane and Auckland. Moved back to Brisbane after High school - studied medicine now work as a doctor. Played union all my life but always had passion for league, initially Broncos then Warriors once they entered the comp.
Friends with a couple of other guys on this forum (went to same highschool) - DK and Legoman.
Good to hear your story Mike, and good idea for a thread Taj.
Yeah, but who wants to only hear about SpenceI preferred Robster's "Get to Know Your FellowFagFan".
I like long walks on the beach, a good book by a roaring fire, and am a listner but not really a talker. I also hate cliches
But seriously, I was born in Chirstchurch, moved to Whakatane for a couple of years, then came back to Christchurch around mid-2006.
Because of this i'm like a brown country bloke who's capable of doing anything outside computers and murder.
Used to speak real fresh as until I came back to christchurch.
I didn't know what a cellphone was until mid-2006. When my best mate since I was a baby showed me after we caught up again.
Go to school because i don't have much better to do,and i'm pretty much finished academically. Which is strange considering i'm useless with technology.
Fluent in Maori and English though I'm better at speaking in Maori.
Was a fan of the warriors since 2007.
Played league until I broke my shoulder.
Kids seem to love me for some reason which in turn, makes me popular with the non-slutty babes.
Umm, I chose this avatar because it looks like Chewbacca.
My real name is not fanrrior, it's ******* ******
Yeah, tell me about it. I got a "free" laptop from school because of how far ahead I was and yet I felt a bit stupid in comparison to some of my mates who grew up with computers. It get's easier everyday, but I still have to look at the letters I type.Your posts are more coherent than many of those who claim a higher level of education.
But yeah you should be able to re-connect with technology, young brains are way more flexible. Better to do it now when you have the time and energy, as you get older you'll get more inflexible. It's pretty important in a modern working environment.
From a Mid Canterbury Canterbury farm, went to Boarding school in Timaru from 13-17, then went to Christchurch Polytech where I got a Diploma in Quantity Surveying (Which is in short a Construction Accountant/Contract Manager).
Followed the missus to Wellington after finishing for a holiday, managed to score a great job with a large Main Contractor. So moved up a couple of years ago and things have worked out primo!
Followed the Warriors since about 2004ish. I enjoy my Cricket, Golf, and play squash to a decent level.
I like beer.
