In Andy we (have to) trust
Every day, people sleeping rough in Auckland walk as far as 17 kms to access essentials like food, a safe place to sleep, medical help and somewhere to wash.
That's not easy
On 25 March The Big Mission Home, a 17 km sponsored walk to raise funds for the Auckland City Mission will take place and the money raised will be used to provide vital support for those who need it most, no matter how far they have walked.
My wife and I have registered to complete this walk and we are seeking the financial support of those on this forum.Given our ages, 72 & 69, we don’t expect to find this easy either but are prepared to do it and in doing so raise funds so that the City Mission can continue their good work in supporting others less fortunate than ourselves.
We are One NZ Warriors fans and have been club members since the club was formed and I have jousted with fellow forumers since 2014.
- My wife and I will do the mahi by completing the walk.
- Those who are generous of spirit and don’t have short arms will donate some of their hard earned. All donations are tax deducitble
- The City Mission will spend those donations for the benefit of those folk sleeping rough.
- Together we will make a small difference.
We’ll start it off with $50 so are there 39 others who will join me????
If you must raid a piggy bank and can only make a small contribution that is as acceptable as if you had raided the bank and passed all the booty to us - all amounts Big and Small will be equally appreciated.
We are only promoting this fundraising on the NZ Warriors Forum as we know there are enough forumers who would want to support those sleeping rough and get us to the target or beyond.
We do have another fundraising page where we have asked family & friends to support us and in the first 24 hours we have raised $1,183
If you would like to support us, you can make your contribution at:
