I don't think he will look at the players skills at all, he will expect that Cappy and team know what skills they need (he might be wrong about that but he is not a leaguie so he won't know). I think he will look at culture, respect, how they act, how hard they train, how they treat each other, how the captain acts and how they react to him

The Warriors will have trouble moving people on because those same people have sabotaged the reputation of the club to point where we are a laughing stock.

Who is going to want to buy the offloads of the laughing stock ?

These are examples of the false economy player power builds...on the one hand too costly for the Warriors to release...on the other hand too costly for other parties to take a gamble on.

We must be one of the most ready to pay other people to cash in on our players type of clubs in the competition.

This is a beautiful model for departing lazy players. it's like some Kiwi saver scheme where he employer contributes dollar for dollar whether you bother to be any good at your job or not moving forwards.

Parramatta had a similar problem paying a lot of their cap to players they had released. I think that is why they broke the cap rules yet were still performing so badly. EW needs a kick in the arse himself for allowing Bell and Scurrah to get the club to this point.

As long as those clowns in management do their job right. then they can focus on the players.If it means moving a player on regardless of their statue

I watched a program on the SAS boot camp , Not rugby league I Know but still some
useful idea's
They let their recruits take them selves out of the running ,
They keep testing them with no feedback positive or negative
But at any time you can quit You'llget a warm cup of tea an a pat on
The back as you sign your way out of your contract
An they keep going till they have cut their squad down to the required
numbers,
There is a lot more work after this but everyone that passes is at leat mentally
tough

The big things he did was create a culture of personal responsibility. It wasn't someone else's fault if you made mistakes. The also have a term. "Better people make better all blacks" so no dick heads.

The senior players clean up the dressing room after a game. Can you imagine the princess with a broom in his hand after a game. More likely a comb to do his hair!!!

The senior group also made it their responsibility to look after the integrity of the ABs name, ie: Keven Mealamu
A role that would have been well suited for Manu, Mannering, Mutts given their long standing at The Warriors
Manu & Mutts policing would be young trouble makers, imagine that

You can feel a similar culture already at the Storm with their senior group.

NRL: Henry helping Warriors bounce back

Warriors coach Andrew McFadden says the presence and support of former All Blacks World Cup winning coach Sir Graham Henry had given him confidence throughout the club's recent struggles.

Henry, who guided the All Blacks to the 2011 World Cup, has spent the past month working with the Warriors and alongside McFadden in an unpaid mentoring role.

He sat in the coach's box as the Warriors bounced back from consecutive defeats in Saturday's win over Brisbane, and his recent work had helped McFadden maintain his focus and self-belief during a testing time.

McFadden is contracted until the end of next season but remains under pressure to hold his job. It's been reported he will be axed if the Warriors don't make the playoffs this year or at least show a considerable improvement.

"It's just giving me support, and understanding that what we're trying to do at the Warriors is the right thing to do," said McFadden.

"I've been talking to Graham for a while and he just sits back and observes and he'll let me know how we went, but it was obviously a nice day to be in the box.

"Our performances of late, up until tonight, haven't been that great but we have been doing a lot of good things.

"Our professional standards have changed at the club and that's what makes it so much more disappointing when you just feel like you're banging your head on the wall.

"So it's been good to have that sort of person say 'look this is the direction that you need to keep going down'."

Henry's term at the club is due to end, but McFadden will continue to call on his expertise as the season progresses and beyond.

"His involvement will change. I'll always stay in contact with him now. I've been in contact with him over the last 12 months but certainly having him there is a support.

"He's a great guy and a great coach so we'll keep in contact."

Hard case thing is I always thought SGH use of the bench was a bit dodgy with the AB's. I still say Dave Rennie is the man.

I thought it interesting that John Hart said when he left the club that the NRL was the toughest rugby competition in the world. The Warriors are not at the bottom of the NRL and maybe SGH is impressed with what he is seeing from Cappy. He may have a lot to learn but maybe the club are happy for him to do his learning here. Learning means making mistakes along the way.

I reckon that Henry would have pushed for Cappy to relax a little in the bye week and push the attack approach more. Aucklanders don't like defending, everyone knows that. Carlos Spencer loved onfield shirt changes and attacking. When you are up on attack then I believe the D confidence will also grow. They had a confident feel and its a shame that he is taking off as it is good to have some more input.
