Short turnaround after a tough battle against the Storm so we were a little clunky against a very physical and unorthodox team so thought we did really well and I'm happy with the win. Really hope Harris (Captain fantastic) gives us one more year, his calmness and leadership will rub off on the young guys.
Really like how FORD has stuck to his role as a defensive rock and stopped giving away penalties and dropped balls, although running off Shaun he is nowhere near as effective as Curren was last season.
Dallin never ceases to amaze me and him and BERRY are formidable on the right.

Good to see Tauapiki and Lussick getting first grade experience (and improving every game) early in the season as they will be needed come August September.
Also great seeing the enthusiasm that Jazz brings and his brain farts have been excluded from his game (thanks Webby).

Overall, not the prettiest win against an ugly team but now we start the climb up the ladder.

It may not have been the easiest game to watch and when I thought their tails were hanging a bit in the 2nd half they upped the ante to grind it out for the 2 points.RTS is getting back into the groove again and I just love the speed and enthusiasm that Medcalfe is bringing. It was only game 3 so Knights nxt to take apart and we be hoisting those sails and setting a path towards top 4 on the table.Anyway I enjoyed the game so a happy camper here.

It’s funny watching new recruit capewah smiling and patting people on the back, while everyone else is spraying each other after errors, really speaks to the change in attitude.

Bit worrying couldn’t score for 50 minutes in the middle of the game, but easily explained away with the players out.

Got a good bench rotation going this week, ironically mandatory HIAs give them a free middle interchange, which helps with that.

If RTS is moving position next week would be tempting to put Pompey and Kosi in together, that attempted intercept by Monty were diabolical

Got a view of the new stadium from the hotel, right near the central city. Looks small but apparently 30k capacity. Bring on the Christchurch Keas in the NRL - we will smash em😜.
But seriously be good to have another NRL team but not sure there are enough fans here, 17k last night but a lot weren't from ChCh so not sure they would get the numbers

I'm jealous they're getting a brand new inner city stadium.
Pity it took at earthquake and 15 years though.

I am a TMM fan but last night you saw two teams grind it out until a bit of x-factor won it at the death with the metcalf try and then Rogers.
So can see why you persist with Metcalf even if TMM is fit and does some things better, Metcalfe game also grows week by week as he gets more time.

- RTS needs to roam in space, he said Webby told him about the Manu type role, maybe he’s not doing it at centre for now due to learning the role and keeping it simple, imagine in 3 months him roaming up next to SJ and Berry
As I said, Id love to see RTS taking the ball on 4th tackle. Gives us so many options to run or pass, plus he'll earn 6 agains better than anyone.

He had a shocker for Bunty at a crucial time which wasn't ideal given the game scenario, but otherwise was solid.

We'd need to see a more even share of minutes to get a fair gauge of the two, otherwise it is unfair on both players to make that call.

Wether he has even been seeing time there at training prior to Wade getting injured, who knows? Could be seen by the coaching staff as a halfback and only really trained there all pre season.
One thing about CHT, he has a beautiful cutout ball from DH. I havent really seen it from the warriors. He was going two wide and it was catching the Raiders out of position.

Ugh havent been back in over a decade. Thats not too far from my old house. Still an absolute shithole from the looks.

I've been trying to put my critical thinking hat on and understand the narrative that the team got carried by the refs last night...

Most I can come to was that there were odd calls made for both teams.

Obviously I'm biased, but I just can't see how this team has ever been favoured; saving the couple of games after the Jason Paris rant.

Metcalf finding his feet and like that he gets involved with attacking kicks

Genuine question tho
Is Lukey getting that love from the boys on the ground, or is a bit of a Lone Ranger

I notice when he passed late to Montoya with no space and he got monstered, lukey was already returning back to the line and not helping Montoya off the deck

Also when Lukey scored from DWZ didn’t feel many boys rush up to him to congratulate like normal

All love here just being a peeping Tom

Noticed something similar with SJ and Lussick, SJ gave Lussick a high 5 while he was sitting on the ground. Probably nothing but in the nba and other sports a player will offer their hand to pull a player up to which Lussick looked like he was expecting. Hope there’s a sign at the club saying leave your ego at the door and pick it up on the way out
