General Former U20 Players and Teams

¿N. ig-mah¿

¿N. ig-mah¿

U20 across all times since 2008. Also gone for players that dominated in that age group. Many of whom didnt go on to replicate that in 1st Grade...

1. Glen Fisiiahi
2. Kevin Locke
3. Siuatonga Likiliki
4. Konrad Hurrell
5. Omar Slaimankhel
6. Tuimoala Lolohea
7. Shaun Johnson
8. Russell Packer
9. Alehana Mara
10. Sam Lisone
11. Ben Matulino
12. Sonny Fai
13. Elijah Taylor

14. Pita Godinet
15. Sam Lousi
16. David Bhana
17. Constantine Mika

Coach: John Ackland

Con Mika is a biased one. Never seen such a talented player before in my life. Had all the natural talent in the world but lacked the drive.

As for players that kicked on in NRL or other professional sports this is my A and B team. Going off what they have actually achieved to date, not their potential. No doubt missed someone...

A Team
1. Kevin Locke
2. Cooper Vuna
3. Peta Hiku
4. Konrad Hurrell
5. Bill Tupou
6. Tuimoala Lolohea
7. Shaun Johnson
8. Ben Matulino
9. Pita Godinet
10. Russell Packer
11. Sio Siua Taukeiaho
12. Mark Ioane
13. Elijah Taylor

14. Ligi Sao
15. Leeson Ah Mau
16. Agnatius Paasi
17. Ben Henry

Coach: John Ackland

B Team
1. Glen Fisiiahi
2. Sosaia Feki
3. Dylan Collier
4. Solomone Kata
5. Omar Slaimankhel
6. Carlos Tuimavave
7. Isaac John
8. Sione Lousi
9. Nafe Seluini
10. Charlie Gubb
11. Sebastine Ikahihifo
12. Raymond Faitala-Mariner
13. Steve Rapira

14. Siliva Havili
15. Sam Lisone
16. Albert Vete
17. Alehana Mara

Coach: Tony Iro
I'm sure Pita Godinet came up from Bartercard Cup in 2007 through the Vulcans, debuting in 2008. He never played U20s from what I remember? I think he would have been too old by the time Toyota Cup started, anyway.

Pita didn't play NYC. First year halves were predominantly Jody Henry and Isaac John. There was a dummy half from that team that I thought the Warriors grossly underrated. Always played direct and square and could ball play. Tough as nails too. Arron Pawley I think his name was. There was also a bloke called Jason Cook who filled in on the wing and at fullback. Again I think a talent. Their issue was they weren't huge monsters so were discarded.

I found this really interesting and am on my holidays so put together a best of from other teams to compare. I chose the Panthers because along with us they have been thought of as a nursery of young talent (probably took over from us after our early success). I also chose the Titans and Canberra as teams that have had similar issues to us in the time period that NYC has been around. And finally I chose the Roosters who are widely regarded as an area that has to buy talent because 'they don't produce any.'

First here is Mt.Wellington's list of the Warriors best of as I didn't find much to disagree with:

1. Kevin Locke
2. David Fusitua
3. Ngani Laumape
4. Pita Hiku
5. Sosaia Feki
6. Ata Hingano
7. Shaun Johnson
8. Ben Matulino
9. Elijah Taylor
10. Russell Packer
11. Sonny Fai
12. Leeson Ah Mau
13. Sio Siua Taukeiaho

14. Nathaniel Roache
15. Agnatius Paasi
16. Sam Lisone
17. James Gavet

Penrith Panthers (Be a hard team to beat)

1. Matt Moylan
2. Lachlan Coote
3. Waqa Blake
4. James Roberts
5. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak
6. Blake Austen
7. Nathan Cleary
8. Regan Campbell-Gillard
9. Damien Cook
10. Sam McKendry
11. James Fisher-Harris
12. Wade Graham
13. Bryce Cartwright

14. Isaah Yeo
15. Tim Grant
16. Tim Glasby
17. Cody Harawira-Naera

Gold Coast Titans (A fair few weak links to say the least. Shows how well they have bought really)

1. David Mead
2. Kevin Gordon
3. Joseph Tomane
4. Hymel Hunt
5. Jordan Rapana
6. Kane Elgey
7. Cody Walker
8. Jarrod Wallace
9. Matt Srama
10. Ryan James
11. Bodene Thompson
12. Esi Tonga
13. Ryan Simpkins

14. Max King
15. Siosaia Vave
16. Dominique Peyroux
17. Karl Lawton

Canberra Raiders (Very useful)

1. Jack Wighton
2. Edrick Lee
3. Jarrod Croker
4. Josh Dugan
5. Justin Carney
6. Anthony Milford
7. Matt Frawley
8. Tevita Pangai Jr
9. Matt McIlwrick
10. Shannon Boyd
11. Josh Papalii
12. Joel Thompson
13. Paul Vaughan

14. Shaun Fensom
15. Sam Mataora
16. Morgan Boyle
17. Sam Williams

Sydney Roosters (Pretty devastating, with unknown quantities in the halves. The talent ID from a young age is very impressive. Loads of high quality props and particularly outside backs missing from the 17)

1. Roger Tuivasa Scheck
2. Curtis Rona
3. Latrell Mitchell
4. BJ Leilua
5. Joseph Manu
6. Jackson Hastings
7. Ryley Jacks
8. Kane Evans
9. Jake Friend
10. James Tamou
11. Boyd Cordner
12. Ethan Lowe
13. John Asiata

14. Dylan Napa
15. Jayden Nikorima
16. Mose Masoe
17. Isaac Liu

To me the Warriors still doesn't have the size on the bench or X factor in the outside backs to compete with juniors from a couple of these clubs.

That was fun!

Would definitely have Nafe Seluini on the warriors bench. The team used to lift when he came on.
Pity he never carried things on into the NRL.

Likiliki was amazing at U20s level. NYCs centre of the year from memory. However he didn't really kick on when he went to Newcastle.

Have always wondered how he would've gone had he stayed and developed with us.
