just looking back at the 2010 nyc grand final team and check it out- it was stacked-

Image

By my count 13 of the 17 have gone on to play 1st grade plus Palavi who was left out and benry who was of course injured in an unfortunate sign of what was to come ( that makes 15 who graduated to 1st grade!).
Shaun Johnson, the gubster, benry and palavi are the only ones still here.
Good chance by this time next year Shaun Johnson and Charlie will be the sole survivors.

Some blasts from the past alright.

interesting that although 13 have gone on to play first grade, probably only 3 of them (Shaun Johnson, Feki, and Elijah Taylor) you could say have kicked on to become regular, established, first choice first graders (dont think you could quite class Gubb there just yet, getting close though).

Funny enough Feki was probably the least hyped player in that back line.

Quite like to see Feki come home.

An experienced no flash Harry Winger that tries hard. Be useful to have about the place.

If the warriors had built the nrl team with the u/20s premiership teams this is what the team should be now

Nrl team 2016

1 Glen Fisiiahi
2 Kevin Locke
3 Solomon Kata
4 Konrad Hurrell
5 Manu Vatuvei

6 Jordan Meads
7 Shaun Johnson

13 Carlos Tuimavave
12 Simon Mannering
11 mark Ioane
10 sam lousi
9 Alehana Mara
8 Ben Matulino

InsideBall

If we're doing a u20s premiership team;

1. Glen Fisiiahi
2. Sosaia Feki
3. Solomone Kata
4. Konrad Hurrell
5. Omar Slaimankhel
6. Tuimoala Lolohea
7. Shaun Johnson
8. Sam Lisone
9. Jazz Tevaga
10. Ligi Sao
11. Ben Henry
12. Sio Siua Taukeiaho
13. Elijah Taylor

14. Siliva Havili
15. Agnatius Paasi
16. Toafofoa Sipley
17. Charlie Gubb

Of course this only includes players that won u20s GFs... But, looking at that team, you can't help but wonder if we've massively overrated the talent coming through this club as a result of the success we've had at that level. Some good players there, no doubt, but I doubt that side would beat most NRL teams.

To be fair though, the team would look a lot better if we included ALL players to have come through our u20s.

Con Mika is a biased one. Never seen such a talented player before in my life. Had all the natural talent in the world but lacked the drive.

As for players that kicked on in NRL or other professional sports this is my A and B team. Going off what they have actually achieved to date, not their potential. No doubt missed someone...

Can anyone name all 53 former Junior Warriors players who have played NRL?

Seriously? Ok, without googling and just using this thread.

Sam Lousi, Sione Lousi, Johnson, Fish, Omar, Hurrell, Kata, Fusitua, Lolohea, Lisone, Vete, Feki, Hiku, Packer, Matulino, Mara, J Palavi, Tevaga, Likiliki, Taukeiaho, Tupou, Tuimavavae, Steve Rapira, Ah Mau, Taylor, Gubb, Roache, Poching, Fai, B Henry, Maumalo, Locke, Robinson, Ioane, A Henry, Havili, Ikahihifo, O'Regan, Paasi, Areaiiti, Seluini, Sao, John, RFM, Bhana, Mika, Papalli, Lino, Gavet, Blinky, Godinet, Laumape, Solomona

Not sure on a couple of those. Don't think I included anyone twice. By my count I've got 53 assuming they're all correct and not doubled. Probably missing someone really obvious.

Edit: added Lino, Blinky, Gavet, Solomona, Godinet, Laumape

It would be interesting to see a list of how many all the other clubs have produced.
I'd imagine we'd top it.

Gavet? So that leaves four more. Brain is not working so well.

Added Blinky Ah Van too. Did Thomas ever get a token injury game? Don't think he did.

It'll either be players who should be really obvious or ones who are very obscure.

Niko was signed by the Storm and maybe the Cowboys, but pretty sure he didn't play a game.

That list of 47 Warriors players was from an article dated July 2015. Lino would have made his debut after that, maybe RFM or Maumalo as well so they could be the 2 missing from 47-53 which leaves gaps elsewhere.

Ah Van is dependent on how they're counted. He made his debut before NYC, but he also played NYC because he was still eligible when it started so it depends if the official bean counters consider him an U20's product or not based on debuting before NYC or just simply playing both NYC and first grade.

List is also missing Gavet like mine originally was. Easy to forget he was with us and left before coming back to us.

Looking at who I missed - Godinet, Solomona, Laumape. That takes me up to 53 IF Ah Van is counted. If not then farked if I know who's missing.

Did Godinet play NYC ? I thought he was ineligible as he was too old when the NYC competition started. If memory serves me didn't he win player of the year for the Vulcans in 2008 the same year the NYC started?
