The Staggs try is ridiculous - He ran through half the team to be fair to Aitken. That was his one of his 2 tackle misses last night out of 22, and marking Staggs all night is one of the biggest challenges for any centre ATM. He's a top 3 centre right now. His defence is generally pretty solid, it's been a big improvement the past couple of seasons for him.

Aitkens is a top ball runner, John Bateman like strength to break tackles. Yes, passing skill is low. But TBH I think he is the best centre on the market, and don't mind this signing (would prefer 2 years though). He'll be inside big Ken, who is hardly a Fusitua like finisher. Put Katoa on his inside with an off load, these three will be hard to handle if they get a bit of a combination going. All 3 can break a tackle.

Fusitua needs that quick early ball, which Hiku provides.

The Dragons have been his only NRL club. Hopefully a new club and a new message will renew that promise he showed.

No we are not - I think he was just a back up plan if we never got Aitken

We know Aitken is an effective attacker, but he will cost us games if his defence is poor.

Im going to keep an open mind regarding Aikens signing. One thing in our favour will be variation. When we go to the left we will have 3 big strong tackle breakers hitting holes off Niko, and the right will have the silky passing and finishing of Hiku and Fusitua. With the right shape, and hopefully using Roger Tuivasa-Sheck as a support runner, not a battering ram, we will have enough options to be dangerous.

I do like how he got straight back up and caught up with the play again in desperation. He had the wing marked in case Dufty managed got a hand on Staggs and even though that didn't happen it was good to see the mindset.

I noticed that too - he never gave up - most players would stay on the ground and watch - or roll around claiming an injury

Dont forget that Aitkens side of the field had to defend Staggs and Fafita, I only watched the first half and Aitken shut them both down easily, so I'm not worried about him being on the end of 1 highlight play.

That was pretty (funny) embarrassing for aitken.
Just one of those things tho- got it wrong, ended up off balance and staggs is a powerhouse.
Overall he was good.

Can we play Oh Flower of Scotland for his theme tune every time he scores, I'll be singing along three or four times a game. Most Kiwis have some Scottish blood from back in the day, my granny always said she loved having a bit of Maori in her.
