There has been a frank admission of guilt from half of the Parramatta' Eels Monday afternoon drunks.

Mark Riddell has spoken out after he and Tim Smith turned up to the Eels' training boozed.

The pair has been stood down from the NRL this weekend and fined $5,000 for their efforts.

Riddell admits it was not on and fully accepts the punishment handed down.

God, things just keep getting worse for that club. I think we have a very serious contender for the wooden spoon here.

I cant believe how this club over the last few years have on paper arguably one of the best teams in the comp, but have each and every time failed to deliver....maybe their high turnover of players doesnt help.

Parramatta captain Nathan Cayless admitted damaging a security camera at Sydney's Star City Casino two weeks ago, the Sunday Telegraph reported.

The report said Cayless had been drinking with Eels teammate Nathan Hindmarsh and the pair were refused entry to an area of the casino because they were intoxicated.

Cayless admitted to smashing a camera in the hotel lift with his fist and had agreed to pay several hundred dollars to cover the damage, the report said.

"I was just frustrated at being refused service," Cayless is quoted as saying.

"I know I've done the wrong thing.

"But I've had 10 years of first grade and it has been incident free up until this happened."

The Parramatta club has been embroiled in off-field turmoil in the past week with coach Brian Smith departing and two first-grade players, Mark Riddell and Tim Smith, fined and stood down for drinking before a training session.
