Dunamis has been awful from what I've watched of Redcliffe. Like actually terrible. Same goes for Lachlan Timm who was our the extended squad for a bit. Their forward pack are all plodders who let in far too many tries.

Honestly I'd just bite the bullet and give the Kepu boys minutes off the bench. Take the L's and get them ready for next year. This season is a wrap anyway.

If he’s not going to be here for only a year, or part of a year, I hope we would look at keeping him on the books if we can somehow not have him on a top 30 contract. Pay him 60k next year and let him know when he’s ready to come back we’d be willing to have a look at how that works for both parties. A small gesture now could convince him in the future
I agree, those $60k train and trial contracts don't count against the cap either.

Pay him $60k to fund his travels next year.

cant do that as it would limit whos available for the top 30.
also believe there's a limit to the number you can have on train and trial?

It's happened.

Former Queensland State of Origin front rower Dunamis Lui has been signed by the Vodafone Warriors for the rest of the 2022 NRL season.

The 32-year-old veteran joins the club at Moreton Daily Stadium this week and is in line to make his Vodafone Warriors debut in Saturday’s home game against Newcastle.

He boasts 169 NRL matches including the 2019 grand final with the Canberra Raiders when they lost 8-14 to the Sydney Roosters.

Since ending his 89-game stint with Canberra last year the Toa Samoa international has been playing alongside a number of Vodafone Warriors players as captain of feeder side Redcliffe in the Queensland Cup.

“As well as his extensive experience, Dunamis will give our squad wonderful qualities as a leader,” said Vodafone Warriors general manager football Craig Hodges.

“He’s also familiar with many of our players after playing alongside them in the Queensland Cup.

“Dunamis is going to play a valuable role for us not only as a player but as a mentor for the young players we have here in our wider squad

He has been there so knows what is required in a NRL side
how does he compare to Lodge, I mean what has been keeping him out of first grade, like is he any good?
Hes here for the remainder of the year, is he an injury magnet, or a judiciary magnet?
Anyone know?

He played Origin in 2020 and has a large number of matches. Think he was dropped by raiders in 2021 not sure of reason but may have been fitness/ form. He's been trying to get back to first grade level. Should be good for his experience and is a strong runner

Depth player only...will be cheap cover for the rest of the year. Time for our current props to stand up and take the opportunity with Lodge leaving
Played Origin in 2020...

Lui isn't replacing Lodge the player, just filling a hole in the squad. At best he will be an injury back up off the bench. He's a defensive prop, doesn't make metres.

He's a sign we lack experience in our squad, and there is no one out there with a for sale sign that ticks our boxes, or wants to join us (fair enough, that's hard to find regardless of our current state).

With Curran, Egan and Sironen due back in the next week or so, that will free up Harris to move into prop. Addin Fonua-Blake out will fuck us. I would back Jazz at 10 before playing Lui.

This is our worst signing ever
There is no upside to signing him
He is not a depth player at all as he isn’t that good
He isn’t fit to step foot on any nrl stadium field

Our team is now a laughing stock if it wasn’t already
I used to watch the nrl pundit shows every week like bloke in bar and last year sterlos wrap
I couldn’t stand to watch those shows or nrl 360 now
Braith Anasta “ so gentlemen who will win this week out of the west tigers and the warriors “
Paul Kent “absolutely the tigers, the warriors are putting in a typical performance of inconsistency this year”

I mean can we change our minds and send him back
I know Wayne Bennett is recruiting him next year but some of the dolphins other recruits are also stupid Eg dolphins recruited Isaako of all people
We are going to lose all games from here on in I accept that but can we at least retain our human pride and human dignity by not playing Dunamis?

Think we are all in agreeance here then. Dunamis is Cover.

Face value he's a first grade experienced prop. Just not an elite one.

And who knows maybe he finds a new lease. On life and the new rules suit him. Given hes short term I dont have an overly major issue woth his signing. Its a means to an end.
