Dominion Voting Systems is suing the cable news station and its Murdoch-owned parent company, Fox Corp, for $1.6bn (£1.3bn) over repeated claims that it rigged its voting machines as part of a conspiracy to steal the 2020 presidential election from Donald Trump.
The suit shines a spotlight on Fox News’ part in promoting Trump’s “stop the steal” campaign and its hand in driving the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol. But legal experts say that Dominion, which supplied voting machines to 28 states, appears to be building a wider case that Fox News has a long history of misinformation and steamrolling facts that do not fit its editorial line.
Over the past few months, Dominion’s lawyers have been working their way up the tree of Fox News producers, executives and presenters with interrogations under oath about the network’s work culture and its weeks of conspiratorial, and at times outlandish, claims about Trump’s defeat. On Monday, lawyers deposed Murdoch’s eldest son, presumed successor and Fox Corp CEO, Lachlan.
Now, Dominion has reached the top of the tree. Months of accumulated testimony are expected to put Murdoch, the chair of Fox Corp, in the difficult position of either having to deny he has control over what happens at his most influential US news operation or defend its campaign to promote the biggest lie in US electoral history.

Gough Whitlam will be smiling from his grave.

Always good to have a laugh.

The problem with all of this Trump psychopath dictator stuff is people see it as laughable.

They laughed when he announced his was running for the Presidency.

And once he got the job the media spent four years mocking and making jokes of Trump in a mistaken belief that this would diminish him, by making him a figure of ridicule.

If you want an example of how this stuff translates to real world impacts on ordinary people, skip forward to Jan 6th QAnon Sharman.

The press laughed at him and his buffalo hat, bare breasted, an offshoot of the Trump MAGA world ridicule.

Big mistake.

That Khunt was inside the US Capitol in an act of domestic terrorism and treason.

His costume is irrelevant in the tide of danger to democracy.

And Donald Trump lives in this space, he thrives with these weapons of ridicule like these baseball cards. Thanks to Trumps dictatorial mechanisms which are tried and true dating back to every dictator who ever killed the intelligentsia and or the likes of media with lame accusations of fake news....

Trump uses the ridiculous to control the information space, it is like a challenge to his cult to embrace the impossible or the unbelievable.

He makes cards like this, to drive a wedge between himself and dissenting voices. This is Trumps way of saying I can do whatever the hell I like and anyone (media) who disagree are helping my cause by polarising my base to dig in deeper.

Like I say Trump is a psychopath and these actions like the cards are psychopathic, they are designed to manipulate, to cause chaos, and to polarise.

While smug liberals laugh, Trump just moved his base deeper into the trenches marked enemy.

He is still the front runner for the GOP presidency...rumours also on Quora that he has has long had syphilis and might be in the early stages of mental decline, that is why the GOP focus on BIden's stammer.

The fat lady hasn't sung on Trump yet, by a long shot.

I don’t even know why these cards got any air time.

The media give him a platform and made trump - because for Trump, any publicity is good publicity.

Trumps cards have sold out already. He grossed over US$4 million. They are now selling for 5 times face value.

However some dude has already found the card images are photoshops based on things like Amazon clothing advertisements, that he does not have copyright for.

So Trump can be sued by Amazon as well as people that have bought the cards.

Maybe a class action on the way,

In his 4 years he earned about US$1.7 Billion from the US Government, his tax returns were supposed to be audited, and he said they were, but they were not.

All POTUS get their returns audited except this crook.

However two FBI directors got random audits in that time.

His son in law scored US$2.5 bullion from the Saudi government.

However the word is his business made sweet fark all.

How did the fecker do it? blackmail.

Dead right there Bruce, same way it's always been done by the Epsteins of their day since Salome and Mata Hari. And we wonder why our heroes always turn out to be creeps and pedos, even Mick Jagger.

Democracy is about choice. What happened was the Democrats put up a candidate who was so odious that Trump appeared more preferable. Also attractive was that he had not been part of the American political system. As it turned out he was just as corrupt as Clinton, Biden, Bush and the rest as an outsider. Just that he didn't have the political and media resources behind him to cover him.

And the Democrats were so arrogant that they believed that the chauvinistic American people were ready to be led by a female when it was a miracle that they'd just voted in a leader that wasn't white for two terms. They pushed their luck with Hillary but they'd made a rod for their own back in that Obama would've been such a hard act to follow with a middle aged white male candidate. Hillary was a gamble that didn't pay off and it's incredible that she managed to get more votes than Trump overall considering she was such a tarnished candidate. Cambridge Analytics did a fantastic job for Trump and the rest is history but they've been set back decades in progressive thinking. I won't see another minority or a female as leader in the US in my lifetime, it's back to crusty old white men from here on.
