General Donald Trump

Wouldn't mind joining you. Actually you and I could be his pall bearers, there are only two handles on a rubbish bin.
I jest not, and this is an increasing possibility considering that the GOP in congress are becoming full of nutters.

The GOP, because of gerrymandering, could take both the Senate and Congress in 2022.

They could then vote Trump as the Speaker of Congress. The leader does not have to be actually an elected member.

They could then impeach both Biden and Harris, on a charge of breathing, and then install Trump as interim President.

However, that means immensely ambitious people like the current GOP house and senate leaders only want Trump to help them keep their jobs.

He would probably sack both of them in the process.

So right now they are wondering if Trump's support is such a good thing, especially as his support is on the wane, and not growing.

Former US president Donald Trump falls off Forbes 400 rich list for first time in 25 years

For a quarter of a century, Donald Trump has enjoyed a place on the prestigious Forbes 400 rich list.

But in 2021, that coveted spot has proven to be out of reach for the former president and reality TV star.

According to the magazine, Trump failed to secure a place on the ranking of America's richest people for the first time in 25 years.

It comes after the publication estimated that the 75-year-old's net worth had plummeted to the tune of US$600 million during the Covid-19 crisis, as property values crashed.

It means he was left with a net worth of around US$2.5 billion, missing the cut-off to make it on the list by a cool US$400 million.

But according to Forbes, Trump's change in fortunes is also the result of his own actions.

"If Trump is looking for someone to blame, he can start with himself," the publication explains.

"Five years ago, he had a golden opportunity to diversify his fortune. Fresh off the 2016 election, federal ethics officials were pushing Trump to divest his real estate assets.

"That would have allowed him to reinvest the proceeds into broad-based index funds and assume office free of conflicts of interest."

But instead, he decided to hold on to his assets – a decision which may have cost him dearly.

In the past Trump downplayed the value of rich lists, saying of Forbes in a 2015 interview: "They have no idea what I own, and it's irrelevant".

But Trump's apparent change in fortunes comes at the worst possible time, with the real estate giant facing mounting debts which will come due in the near future, according to a New York Times bombshell investigation into his tax returns which emerged last year.

"He appears to have paid off none of the principal of the Trump Tower mortgage, and the full US$100 million comes due in 2022," the Times wrote in September 2020.

"And if he loses his dispute with the IRS over the 2010 refund, he could owe the government more than US$100 million (including interest on the original amount) … He appears to be responsible for loans totalling US$421 million, most of which is coming due within four years."

As rumours continue to swirl that Trump is plotting another presidential run in 2024, insiders believe the determining factor in whether he throws his hat in the ring or not may be his financial situation.

Meanwhile, Amazon boss Jeff Bezos took out the top spot in this year's Forbes 400 list with an estimated net worth of US$177 billion, followed by newly single Tesla CEO Elon Musk with US$151b, Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg on US$134b, Microsoft's Bill Gates on US$134b and fellow tech guru, Google co-founder Larry Page, on US$123b.

This quote is the last paragraph from the article above. It seems that the translators got a word wrong when they translated the Bible… Jesus didn’t say “the meek will inherit the earth”… he actually said “the geeks will”…..

nah you couldnt have afforded the blowback from all the trumpers out there.
That is the serious issue, his nutter base.

I dunno if anybody has been watching reports of his recent rally speeches.

Rambling, barely coherent, with bemused looks on his faithful, the guy is losing it.

The only support he has is from absolute crazies that people are too scared to confront, and of course the god botherers who are being told by their pastors  what to think.

The test is coming though. He has told Steve Bannon and the others not to front to the Congress Committee next week.

That will set in motion a grand jury for indictment. They will plead executive privilege that only Biden can give, and he won't.

Then the shit is going to hit the fan.

It will be off to the SCOTUS.

If they back the prick it will be all on, gloves off. Somehow I doubt they will back him.

He isn't going away for at least two reasons.

He is facing jail time and being in the running for President is going to save his butt there.

He is broke and needs the cash flow from the base idiots donations.

Lastly, and the scariest, because this was predicted by his psychologist niece. He wants to wreck things and hurt people because he lost the election.

The guy is a serious nutter, have no doubt about that.

i dont, i just worry the the other dudes are not creating anyone to put up against him already. Biden has said he will not run again. And im not sure Kamala has the prestige to swing it yet.

Biden won't be up for it. Harris hasn't got what it takes.

Plenty of cunning MAGAs want the job and will turn on Trump to get it. He and De Santis are at loggerheads already. That could be a shit fight.

The best I could hope for is somebody like Liz Cheney. I don't like her politics at all, but she is sane and intelligent.

The fat lady hasn't sung on this one yet. My pick is Trump might get eaten alive by his power hungry mates.

This is a very intelligent interview with Trump by Yahoo finance this week.

Any country that votes for that guy as President in totally stuffed, without any doubt.

The guy is a total nut job.

Trump supporter Scott Pio, running for the state legislature in Virginia has tweeted a profound statement. He said he wonders if all the boats were taken out of the sea, whether the sea level would drop, like in a bath he used as an example when items are removed from the tub. Removed his tweet after copping backlash for his stupidity, but it seems too many saw it, so he’s now trying to defend the statement.

Technically it’s probably true… by a microscopic, irrelevant amount 🤣

If he really wanted to step it up a level he what have included all the reclaimed land (In China!) as causing sea level rise!

Yeah but what’s the solution? Over 70% of the earth is made up of water, and have no boats? To ask the question “what if all the boats were taken out of the water, would we see sea levels drop” may be a plausible question, but how could it happen. Seems like just another piss weak argument trying to shoot down climate change and it’s effects on the earth. Like it or not weather patterns are changing, I think we contribute to a degree, but I also believe this is the earth’s cycle.

Latest on Trump is that the Congress can vote him guilty of an insurrection.

They can then ban him from ever holding public office again. It sounds like it might get some GOP backing, not the real nutters but enough to swing it.

It seems they are assembling the evidence now.

Good move to ban him from office. What they have to come to terms with is how Trump got there in the first place. While the Democrats keep putting up Corporate owned neo liberal candidates, who are Republicans in disguise it will happen again. Summed up, the Democrats went right wing, so the Republicans went right into crazytown.
