Yeah but in the fullness of time history will remember we were ahead at the death until that freakish cunt ruined it all. Its all about how you frame it. And a certain amount of denial.

That was a very slick move and good hands from Katoa.
Too slick maybe forward. Didn't get a close look at it. Am I clutching at straws?

To be fair, that was pretty well defended, DWZ tackles his ankles at head height - who else is getting themselves into that position.

Any other winger I suspect DWZ crashes him out and it is us with the high 5s, two points and undoubtedly less semen on the Fox Studios floor that needs to be cleaned up

I need to watch it again to be certain....but my memory is that Barnett never raised his arms.

The defender Must be allowed to run at the kicker to effect a tackle, because the defender has no idea whether the player in possession is going to kick it or run it. This includes being allowed to run at the kicker to put them off their kick or cut down their decision time, this has nothing to do with playing at the ball, even if the ball ends up hitting them.

Ergo there is no such thing as playing at a kicker merely by running at them.

Playing at the ball requires a limb to strike out at the ball.

Running in fast while the kicker is kicking and having the ball kicked into you is not playing at the ball. This is especially true when a player turns away from the kick to protect their face like
Barnett did, that is a motion that literally says I do not want to be hit by this kick.
I think Marshall-King might have been pinged for playing at the ball but not sure if he had his arm in the air. Can you be penalised if charging down a kick with your head?

yeah, have to agree - the two scoring plays were elite in that they gave themselves a chance with that last man against an excellently drilled defence - Dallin got there, which was another amazing thing about the try, he was only beaten in the leap
He should have shoulder charged his legs.

Wonder what that’s about.
Didn’t he have spiders on him in that first half- it was frustrating watching our boys hold off on him- got to be aggressive to shut down his running game.
Pushing the ref over to tackle Berry 10m from the try line - I reckon Berry would have scored as he was in full flight.

It is good to see everyone arguing over a game like that.
Good for the forum and good for the club.

Before this game the forum was a bit flat I recon. It's weird how we need losses to have something to talk about, being top four from round one would be bit dry balls.

At least when the team loses, people feel emboldened to put the cases forward for their favorite players, I don't like the getting down on our players much, hey I used to do it, one of the worst offenders in fact, but when the team is delivering quality like this, I just gotta get behind them man.

It would have been interesting to have seen what Jazz brought to a game like that. Man he has a struggle to make fg this year after that showing, of course injury will change that, but all being equal you could argue we do not need him atm as a first pick.

How's about Jahrome Hughes getting the "Tackle of the Week", on a high tackle which ended in, what should have been, a try lol

Also, no mention of this play, or Jackson Fords during Annesleys weekly 'lol soz but tuff shit bro' stream

This tackle annoyed the f* out of me.

Seemed the bunker and commentators were so tunnel visioned about wether he got it down or not noone bothered looking at anything else in the play.

I mean we only had to look at it 40 times waiting for the decision 😂

been watching the game again at present ... gutted RTS poor play the ball Dam that was some stupid shit rush play the ball 8pts up just over 6mins to go
It's like the Warriors are the worst team in all of professonal sports, Ice Hockey, Rugby, NFL. MLB. Premier League at defending a lead with 5 minutes to go. How many times have we seen this team be run down by a miracle last minute comeback and the raiders albeit for a missed conversion nearly did it to us last year.
I think the players are traumitised from it happening so often and instead of sitting on the lead and playing conservatively keep taking risks like Roger going for a fast play of the ball because we want one more try to put the game away beyond all shadow of a doubt instead of having faith we can defend an 8 point win.
We need to have the coaching staff address how to nurse a lead into a win in the last 5 minutes of the game.. And this is not the first bad play of the ball penalty I have seen when it really mattered. Bayley Sironen two years ago did one when we were trying to stop a comeback and James Gavet did one when the other team completed a 20 point comeback from seemed like a certain victory. It got the point where we just needed to complete one set to and good kick chase and we win the game and in both cases Sironen and Gavet did bad plays of the ball. They are etched on my mind permanently.

You sit on the fence too early and you get a Jaws like bite on the backside.
You just have to keep playing positively but not risky.
