Geez, our centre, wing and prop stocks look weak.

Locke has to be our first choice FB. Stop stuffing around with Lance. Look at Coote at the Panthers, threw him in there straight out of the 20's...had an indifferent first season and is now loving life.

Some might argue Kevin hasn't done enough to take the jersey, but personally I don't feel Lance has done enough to keep it...he's not playing the way he did at the end of 2008 and I don't count 'not dropping bombs' as a massive positive, it's what I expect of a fullback.

We need a prop, hooker and 1 (possibly 2) right winger/centres for next year. We have Mckinnons, Royals, Lillymans and Tates salary in which to do so.

Bell needs to get a wriggle on. Waiting for a chance to pick at the storm carcass is not going to work since everyone must have the same idea.

Nice team, hope that Blair is still on the radar. A fit Carney would boost our back stocks.

Many Sea Eagles and Kiwi international centre Steve Matai is close to signing a two-year deal with the Warriors.

Matai's agent Gavin Orr confirmed to ONE News league reporter Andrew Morrison that a deal has been put on the table and he is very interested.

Orr will travel to Auckland on Sunday to meet with Warriors administration, where the finer details of a two-year contract will be discussed.

Matai comes off contract with the Sea Eagles at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah has confirmed the club is currently weighing up several players.

Along with Matai, the Warriors are in talks with Melbourne Storm forwards Adam Blair and Brett White to fill the void left by retiring prop Steve Price.

"They're certainly names on our list and definitely the sort of players we want at our club," Scurrah said of Blair and White.

"The salary cap's been well managed and there's enough money there to recruit for the two positions we're looking at which will be front row and centre.

"We'll only bring players in that we think can make a difference. We're certainly talking about some deals but it's too early to say anything."

White is on contract with the Storm until the end of 2011 while Blair's deal runs until 2012.

For either of the players to come to the Warriors, Melbourne would have to agree to an early release which could happen given the salary cap space they need to shed.

I'm happy with matai. Sure, he is injury prone but so was Tate and Matai will be a lot cheaper.
Yes to White, no to Blair. We are full of second rowers as it is. We should go after a hooker instead.

Yeah Matai is quality when he's actually on the field...

Also, Matai has the uncanny ability to score tries without grounding the ball. That has got to be an asset :)

Mateo is another you can put as stand off in your depth charts. He goes alright there.

No matter how many times I look at it, I can't Sharky a place in our first choice 17 for 2011. What on earth are we gonna do with him?

Agree. And it sucks because he is the man.

Unless we put Sharky in as the bench hooker/center/second row.

His versatility might come in handy.

Don't think we'll get both White and Blair. Assuming we get one plus Matai I find it quite easy to fit Sharky in. Would have him in the starting side as well.

I think you have a fair mix there, but if we're being realistic (ie assuming this thread is not about fantasy teams), if Luck is fit, he'll be in the team.

Yeah let's be honest here. Luck will play, so not putting him in the mix is just wasting time.
