What conspiracy theories? Basically that Shitlennen doesn't want to play somebody that was our defensive glue in a team leaking points horribly? I mean I can see the justification, and I don't disagree with that approach entirely. I just hate smoke and mirrors type shit.

A couple of posters have made a comparison to Lucks situation to Steve Prices Ongoing foot problem announcements, before he pulled the plug. There are always Conspiracy theorists.So no one Credible in other words.
Aside form Lucks tackle count we need his Experience / talk i recon.

I don't know who thinks there is a conspiracy with Luck, he has an injury that needs to heal, or were the operations done just to give him something to do on a slow week?

May have a first grade career in front of him but i doubt it'd be at this club.

He's this years version of Taylor and Benry before him (although from what i've seen not as talented). These 2 will provide the Luck like "work ethic" for many years to come. Another of the same ilk is waay overkill imo.

Im not sure what you mean by another of the same ilk, Taylor is one of the more skilled forwards going around....Bhana has shown some very nice touches, and as i said
earlier, a great step.... there seems to be the perception lately, that if a player is very strong defensively, they must be weak offensively...why do we have to have players
that are only strong in one part of the game...the sooner we fill the team with players who excel at both aspects, the sooner we win premierships consistently.
I think in time, Bhana will be one of those players.

You're correct in saying these guys do have a bit of ball playing nous about them (perhaps the "Luck like work ethic" wasn't thes best reference as you immediately assume "tackle bot" only with him), but these guys definitely have a stronger defensive orientation about them than attacking. With Taylor and Benry both looking likely longterm at the club. Just really dont see the need for another with a similar skillset.

I thought backrowers with strong defense and great ball skills not to mention footwork, are exactly the skill set we're looking for...the more the merrier.

This kid has first grade written all over him, I hope the club is looking at him long term... he's a defensive
machine, which is rare in the 20's, with some nice footwork as well....a great prospect.

David has real character and is a real footballer.
Not the most talented footballer in the world ..but plenty of ticker.

Unfortunately some of the players ackland/warriors pick/play are not they dont do the one percenters.

Guys like likiliki, Slaimankhel and to a lesser degree Havili are pushed enough IMO to be well rounded.
Have all the talent in the world ..but arent pushed to improve.
tbh Likilik and Havili are overweight and dont get back on defense.
Husband goes on about mobility ...but they dont get back 10m you need mobility on D & attack.

If you compare Slaimankhel.. to say Pita Hiku..Hiku is way more unselfish, take smart runs
Omar needs to play more for the team.

Tuimavave should be playing Vulcans. Pair Malu with Jordan Meads or Eko Malu in the halves.

The Juniors are getting ripped up in the middle atm still despite Bhana.
I would like to see Trent Bishop get a run at 13, which I think is his best position.
He is a strong runner more than a distributor.

I think Bhana has a bit more skill than we are seeing, he shows flashes in between his endless defensive efforts.

Omar looks more and more like a center/stand-off to me, he obviously wont get a run there in the 20's, but a few runs there in the Vulcans next season
would be interesting to watch, as i never really rated him at fullback... great support play no doubt, but just lacks that extra something the really good fullbacks
have.

I actually like Likiliki's shape, those shorter barrel chested props are really effective with all the wrestling techniques being used these days, as long
as his attitude is good, the fitness will come and he should be around for a few more years yet.

Carlos showed some good maturity yesterday, and some very nice touches. The most pleasing thing was his involvement, he always gave me the
impression he was doing the bare minimum, yesterday was much better....and you're right, he should be playing Vulcans full time, he's strong
enough and like i said earlier, has the maturity.

Your right with Carlos, I'm guessing they are keeping him in the 20's because they are trying to win the comp, but it's time to step up to the Vulcans and get used to the collision of the big boys. Even if it means a couple of games up and a couple back down.

Yeah I think they should swap Carlos with Jordan Meads, I think him getting used to playing against men and continued improvement is more important than him playing for the under 20s.

And getting back on topic David Bhana leads the NYC in tackles after round 13 with 422 even though he has missed one game.

Im over our juniors getting rushed into first grade and having all this obvious dead weight in the Vulcans (I say dead weight because they obviously arent rated by first grade coaching staff).

I just wish the coaches would cut some of this junior dead weight from first grade and nsw cup, and bring in some 1st grade starter quality talent. If all they bring to the team is size, cut them. If theyre a workhorse, it has to be on attack and defence. As Cameron Smith was quoted as saying, they have to be able to tackle and I mean tackle with shoulder and arms and put the player on the ground, not throw out the hands and try to drag the attacker down or just dropping a shoulder and letting them bounce off and carry on running.

Yes Getting the juniors to learn how to play tough footy in the Vulcans is the way to go.. Maybe give the vulcans job to Iro or Ackland to focus on getting the juniors to toughen up a bit.. If they can get results then maybe the vulcan players can put some pressure on the top grade players like Tupou, Taylor etc.. .

See I think Tupou and Taylor and Benry are reserve graders at best after this year. weak on defence all of them. Get players in first grade who can tackle someone and put them on the ground , not just hit and hold on. Mannering is a good example of the kind of defence we want. He can pick up a player and throw them on the ground one on one.
