He was the Junior Kiwis five eighth last year. A lot of club's were after him, particularly the Newcastle Knights.

How is he holding up this year in BC?

He's highly rated by some because of his work ethic, From what ive seen of him he's not a flashy Benji Marshal type player. He reminds he a little of a Travis Norton but without the strength

Good gap runner, comes off the bench for the lions. DOES NOT like passing AT ALL.

A five eight who runs a lot and doesn't want to pass the ball? We've already got one of those.

What's with the Ropati bashing? We win 3 straight and the fans put the boot in. What a disgrace. At most clubs the half back runs the show & the stand-off plays like a lock. Who's the stand-off at Manly? Canberra? Half of the clubs out there.

Do you guys want Sione doing the job? Well then, what's the problem?

There's always one player that everyone gangs up on like a flock of sheep; Betham, Guttenbiel, Villasanti, Te Mata, Fien, Toopi, Meli - all these guys & more have had the boot put in BY THE FANS - on and on it goes; then they leave the club and everyone cries crocodile tears & gets stuck into the management. It's like a damn soap opera with you people.

i agree, i like Ropati, maybe he needs to distrubute the ball a little more but he's got skill.

I think you could've used some better teams as examples though.

Manly's Stand off is Travis Burns (one of the form five eigths and favourite for NRL rookie of the year)

Canberra's Stand off is Jason Smith (playing the best football of his career, great ball distributer and decent kicking game)

Ropati has improved a lot in during the past weeks & its true most of us havn't acknolwged that fact. However people wanted him to move back to centre or the bench, not many people actually said he had no talent or wanted him out of the team completly. I guess the posts looking for new 5/8's can seem ruthless when he's doing a good job however he was pretty bad at 5/8 for a long time so that might take a while to get out of people's systems.

ive always said before the season kicked off i liked to see ropati plat at 5/8, yes he started of slowly, but the last few weeks he has stamped his position at 5/8.
