Queensland Reds' stirring victory at Suncorp Stadium drew a crowd of 52,113, the highest attendance for a provincial match in Australia, and became the most watched sporting event on Fox Sports ever by doubling the ratings of their semi-final win a week earlier.
An average of 518,000 people watched the Reds defeat the Crusaders, and spiked at an incredible 691,000 in the dying minutes of the game.
The ratings smashed the previous record of 431,000 for a Socceroos World Cup qualifier against Uzbekhistan in 2009.
