NRL Teams Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks

So the Sharks self reported cap breaches like the Warriors did. I think ours was for a year or two theirs was from 2013-2018. So whats the verdict did they get off lightly?

NRL 360 had them fined with some of it suspended and needing to be under the cap by $350k for 2019 and 2020.

The only reason it really looks severe as the Flanagan fine and punishment was listed with it.

Kent on NRL 360. The Sharks created a company for third party payments. Surprised their isn't more clubs found out for Sharks Paper Bag LTD.

Theirs was blatant and deliberate, wasn’t ours we threw money at wiki and price hoping to get 1 but got both and got in trouble?
-4 points is more of a punishment than $350k, it’s the same as an ok player getting a season ending injury vs having to win 2 more games

From memory we were fined more than the Sharks and the kicker of having to start on negative 4 points. I think we may have also had a few years on a restriced cap as well.

Different NRL management but it does seem like the current cap dramas haven't been punished to harshly. Imagine getting a speeding ticket one year and it's $180 the following year its $180 but $100 is suspend so you only pay $80 as long as you behave for another 2 years. The current NRL management seem big on having part of any fine being suspended. Dave Smith used to do that as well. Gallop was in charge when clubs had less money coming in but he hit them hard.

What we got caught for was closer to what happened with the Tigers and Robbie Farrah. Where there were after retirement clauses in the contracts.

Still amazes me that the last of the old lot has finally gone, with Shaun I thought like most of us that he would retire here.

Sometimes having a completely clean slate from old attitudes is good.

That's how I'm taking it anyway. Don't think he is enjoying being sworn at by his team mates. Not unlike him to mention to the media already.

Will be good for him in the long run.

I was only going on what they said on NRL 360. I haven't seen the game.
That was from Sharks tragic Rothfield. I was wandering what game he watched when he said that. Like other posters said he looked like he was getting used to their systems not trying to over play things. Most of the times he just shuffled the ball along.

Then when they had the debate about the Sharks needing to offload players to get under the cap. Rothfield it won't be Johnson as they signed Segeyaro. Kent's he's no on enough.

They'll release Seamagower or something (Seumanfagai). Rothfield big on the small details like usual even on his own teams squad.

Am I right in thinking that Fusitu'a is the longest serving Warrior now (not counting Ah Mau, Sao, Paasi)? Debuted in 2014, Lisone, Kata, Maumalo in 2015.

That is pretty crazy. Total rebuild from the ground up.

Based on what they were saying on 360 – sounded as bad at least as bad the eels who had to play on -12 points, self-reporting must be worth huge concessions.

Also goes to show the NRL won’t find shit unless they are tipped off, rort away.

Remember when Fifita was going to the bulldogs and did an abrupt about face over "issues with 3rd parties?" whole comps crooked.

Absolutely, but his actions over his were impulsive, an very expensive apparently.

Hypothetically, if you were married for 10 years and expecting 10 more but your wife tells you you’re no longer part of her future plans. How would you feel?

Cause and reaction.

It’s all your wife’s fault.
