The player I am choosing is Lesley Vainakolo! He was like a fast powerful tank on the wing for NZ and Bradford. Scored 14 tries in 14 games for the Kiwis. Didn't play as many games as he should have as he switched to rugby for the second half of his career.

I had a good hard look at him but the fact he spent most of his career in super league probably counted against him a bit.

At first I thought that too but then I checked his try strike rate for NZ. 14 tries from 14 games. Compare that to Vatuvei who has 22 tries from 28 games and Vainakolo looks more impressive.
He had about a 100% try strike rate for Bradford too and he did play some NRL early in his career.
I remember watching Vainakolo play for NZ back in the early 2000's and I always felt much more confident of us winning when he was in the team.

He was my choice with Frano Botica when I mentioned another union convert.
Good goal kicker, but Frano is better.

Just some with a bit more of this and some with a bit more of that .
Power wingers have dominated this era,with the outstanding Nightingale the exception.
This guy can still make or breaka game.

Remember when I moved back to Hamilton and the talk if this kid at my club.First pick and kinda surprised he’s lasted this long- 279 nrl games for 141 tries (vatuvei and vagana are the only kiwis to score more), picking up a couple of premierships and 21 games for the kiwis along the way.....
