General Covid Virus fun 1980s to present Kiwis Draft to pass time

Will cap this at a max of 12 cu**s who want to play.

It will be a message board draft where each contestant in turn picks a player and constructs the best team they can.

The player pool is Kiwi International League team players from 1980 to present day. The player must have played at least one international game either as a starter or off the bench.

The draft will go in order
contest one picks then contestant twp etc ....contestant 12 (if we get that many)
in round two the order reverses with contestant 12 picking first
I will use some free internet software/website to put the contestants in random order

After we have all picked thirteen players will compare teams and discuss who has the best side by consensus.

Drafts like this are common on other message boards to pass time between series.

Wrighty picks kevin iro
3rd person SBW
4th person Adam Blair

Round two (order reverses)

4th person Kevin Proctor
3rd person Hugh McGahn
2nd person (Wrighty) Tony Iro
1st Person (Wizard's rage) Roger Tuivasa-Sheck

Round 3 (order back to original)

1st person wizard's rage - LAM
2nd person wrighty - JWH
3rd person - Fred akoi
4th person - Brandon smith


There will be 13 rounds like this. When it is your turn to pick you select any eligible player you want

You will enjoy it - done it before for League and it creates some banter.

Round Two

5 Warriors
6 Weno
7 Wrighty
8 Wizards Rage

Round Three

9 Wizards Rage

11 Weno
12 Warriors

Round Four

13 Warriors
14 Weno
15 Wrighty
16 Wizards Rage

and so on reversing order each time to round 13.

Warriors and Wizards rage will often have double picks/two turns that they should make simultaneously

Rules

Each contestant in turn picks a player and constructs the best team they can.
Please pick 13 Kiwi international players past and current and make a well balanced and formidable 13 strong team. We won't draft a bench.

The player pool is Kiwi International League team players from 1980 Jan 1 to present day. The player must have played at least one international game for the Kiwis either as a starter or off the bench.

There is a 24 hour rule for each pick.

At the end we will compare our teams and perhaps some dudes who are observing this can weigh in as neutrals on the strengths of the teams and what drafted team they like best.

Hi guys - I will squeeze you in but that is final. No other entrants allowed. To confirm your involvement please post again in this thread and say "confirmed" or something like that.

The two people who will sometimes have to make double picks are now Wizards Rage and Defence. Warriors55 you will now have a single pick each round.

All of this is provided Ryno and Defence confirm their involvement in a timely fashion.

I am a bit worried that we will run out of kiwi players so I am going to adjust the rules to remove the 1980 barrier. Effective immediately you can pick from any time period. Even the 1970s and 60s if you want to.

You need to list which position they will play in your thirteen man team.

Often people right down a list of 1 to 13 and populate it as they fill each position and update it as they pick each round.
