General Corruption in the NSW Police

R Rogerson was certainly a piece of work. Mr Kings Cross,Abe Saffron you’ll probably find was his handler too. Most state police here at one time or another will have stories to tell that would make the devil blush

Chris Flannery disappeared and was never heard of again. Has been put down to NSW police also 😳Interesting characters around the time were also George Freeman and Lenny McPherson. Have read a book about this but a long time ago.

In the late 80s early 90's I heard of a Kiwi Cop, a Detective who was on holiday in Sydney went for a ride a long with Sydney Police.

They got a suspect in an interview room, wrote up a statement and told him he might as well sign it because there was a Kiwi Cop in the room and everyone knew they were honest.

The Kiwi couldn't get out of that room quick enough.

Not surprising though, look at how they behave on a sports field, the criminal mentality is in them.
The culture started back in the convict days. Cultures are difficult to eradicate.

It got worse during both world wars when many Police quit to go and fight, and many rogues joined the Police so they could out of going to war.

That was the case in NZ too, and by 1955 the outfit was so corrupt they sacked the Commissioner, a bible bashing Exclusive Brethren and had a Royal Commission into how to clean it up.

The NZ Police has been pretty good since then.

Actually got to know Flannery widow when I lived on the gold coast. She was adamant that he was innocent and the cops were wrong. She got one part right

Neddy Smith boasted how he snapped her jugular and that she was still alive when he threw her into the water. I think Neddy Smith was mixed up with Newtown Rugby League and that league player who murdered his wife to run off with the babysitter.

What pissed me off was how Rogerson said she was just a prostitute, like she didn't matter. Slimy bastard.

Didn't Flannery get killed by George Freeman? Never proven of course.

Yeah something like that but the outcome was the same.
There was another dude, either an accountant or a lawyer, who got caught up in that web and threatened to go public.

Freeman offered to get him off shore to a ship and start a new life. They took his money and threw him overboard, with a weight around his ankles.

Flannery wife would regularly turn up at my local and the boys would joke with me about Flannery not being found and he might walk into the bar any minute

Freeman's boat was for more than fishing. That would be where Rogerson got the idea of throwing that young guy overboard, didn't weigh him down though.
