Do you think a 12 year old is mature enough to understand all of this without any education or information, which you would assume is the case from your bad parent examples. Are they being advised at time of vaccination? Or is it more likely that they are getting hey, its all good and we will give you a $20 PNS voucher?

They should remove the voucher incentive for kids. Most kids understand the fundamentals of infection and disease, they are schooled in using soaps and covering their mouths, good nose blowing technique from a very young age.

We are living in a time where kids aged twelve are highly aware of the global pandemic, the mask wearing by everyone in public, why that is, the existence of the disease and the risks it posses. Most kids know the fundamental purpose of vaccines by this age. They understand why they cannot go to school and so on.

Informed consent can be done well for younger people with skilled communication and the right approach.

74 new cases

68 Auckland
6 Waikato

These case numbers in a Delta outbreak for this long are incredibly low.

That vaccine is a machine. All we read about of late is how infective it is or how it is going to stop working.

The later point is valid to a degree, but people need to understand that the whole world is under siege and things that protect you while you are besieged are not the enemy they are your safe guard to buy you time, till we find out how to kill this thing once and for all.

Okay so just quickly

With that 90% target for all DHB's since it was first introduced on Thursday of last week up to today.

Last week it was at 86% first dosage, and 69% second dosage

Today it's 87% first dosage, and 72% second dosage.

First dosages have gone up 1 percent since Thursday to yesterday

Second dosages have gone up 3 percent since Thursday to yesterday

Maori were 68% first dosage 47% second dosage

Today 70% first dosage, 49% second dosage

Jump of 2 percent for first and second dosage.

I know it's not quite a week. But it's interesting reading

Thanks I really appreciate reading that.

At 70% the people have a chance. Sub 70% was just horrific. it has been worrying me for a long time. Me and my sister ended up saying there are some of us who will make it and a lot who won't this is how it is going to be, we have to stop worrying about it all the time. It is their fault, the whanau who are asking for a hiding.

I see there are bus loads of Antivaxxers wanting to go to Waitangi.

Hone Harawira is not having it. People do not like him exercising his TIno Rangatira Tanga but in such cases it is appropriate for the high profile ones to stand up to these people.

How dare they desecrate Waitangi Marae with their kill Maori messaging.

Counties Manakau 87% first dosage - 71% second dosage
Waitemata 90% first dosage - 74% second dosage

Yesterday

Auckland 93% first dosage - 82% second dosage
Counties Manukau 88 % first dosage - 74% second dosage
Waitemata 91% first dosage - 77% second dosage

Second dosages are heading upwards at 3 percent a week

My 11 old neice wants a jab because her 13 year old brother got one. She turns 12 in February but wants a jab now.
in 3 months she will be mature enough to make an informed decision apparently.

Based on he got one, I want one I would be demanding parents be involved in the decision making

"The fake ‘hīkoi’ set up by those behind Steve Bannon's NZ network (Counterspin) and Aimee Bearda (Voices For Freedom and NZ Schools Unite), is still carrying on. Bannon's little minion Kelvyn Alp and grifter lawyer Sue Grey (Outdoors Party) have managed to make their way up the country after being in Wellington a few days ago.

Those who fell for this scam are still trying to use fake documents sold to them by grifters, they still don’t see they’ve been tricked into risking their lives, and our country to Covid by racists who want them and their whanau to spread Delta.

Tai Tokerau Border Control founder Hone Harawira described the hīkoi as "a scam" organised by Pakehā anti-vaxers.

"There is no invitation from Waitangi Marae, no invitation from the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, no invitation from Ngāti Kawa or Ngāti Rahiri, and no invitation from Ngāpuhi," the former Tai Tokerau MP said.

Police have said those who are found to be deliberately breaching alert level restrictions can expect to face enforcement action.

"Anyone found to have unlawfully crossed the Auckland boundary may also face difficulties in returning to their place of residence given the restrictions in place."

I studied a bit of feminism, not enough to think I am a feminist, but enough to learn that a man cannot be a feminist.
Can this be a feminist 🤣

Trust me the parents are and have said she needs to wait until she turns 12 or its become mandated that under 12's can get one.

Today’s cases

*One previously reported community case has been reclassified as under investigation, resulting in a net increase of 73 community cases.

**The number of cases here may sometimes differ from those reported the previous day due to a difference in reporting timeframe and reclassifications.

Good to know, because I was getting numbers that weren't fitting.

Auckland update

Auckland public health officials have reviewed the suburbs of concern and are urging residents in Redvale, Rosedale, New Lynn, Wiri, Drury, Manurewa and Henderson to get tested as soon as possible if they have even very mild symptoms that might be COVID-19, even if they are fully vaccinated.

This testing will help to provide assurance that any undetected spread of COVID-19 in these communities is identified as quickly as possible.

Bayswater is no longer a specific area of concern however residents should remain vigilant and get tested if they experience even mild symptoms.

Testing is also available at GP and Urgent Care clinics, the locations of these can be found on the Healthpoint website.

In Auckland, public health officials are now supporting 562 COVID-19 cases and close contacts in the community, across 216 households, to safely isolate at home.

Waikato update

All six of today’s new Waikato cases are from Hamilton. All are known contacts of existing cases including one that was already in the quarantine facility.

Waikato DHB is continuing to encourage regionwide testing, to rule out any undetected community spread.

Testing locations in and around Waikato are available on the Healthpoint website and the Waikato DHB website. Dedicated testing sites are operating at Te Awamutu, Ôtorohanga, Whatawhata, Hamilton, and Tokoroa.

Yesterday across the Waikato region there were 1,860 swabs taken and 3,611 vaccinations given.

Blenheim update

Public health staff are continuing to work with the person with COVID-19 who is isolating in Blenheim. Household members at this address have returned negative test results.
