Every time I got the flu shot I would end up really sick from the reactions afterwards. It was like I had the flu really bad. So for the last 10 years I've stopped taking the flu shot, and I've had the flu just once or twice in that last ten years. I am still yet to get covid but I have had my 3 shots just so to be prepared.

I am exactly the same. Only twice I have had the flu and only after traveling to bowling comps with others who are coughing and sneezing in the car.
My late old man was the same. Last time he had the flu injection he ended up in hospital.
I have been testing my wife and I for Covid over the past week. She is positive and I am showing negative. We both feel fine however.

‘Hybrid working’ is what is being sold at my workplace. Most people working from home but the odd compulsory day in the office- depending on the role that varies from 1 day a week to one day a quarter.
Ironically during covid I moved closer to my work by about 30mins but my boss lives 3 hours away. We are Sydney based but a number of our team live in Melbourne, I’m even allowed to work from NZ when I go back for visits etc

I got told come back to the office from my boss as one of the other directors was wanting everyone back. I tried to play the I've got renovations going on card to my boss but he's in the same situation.

My team has 4 us based in the head office

That Monday it was only me and a guy from Christchurch in the office. The rest of the week it was either me and one of the others. Since than my boss has hardly been in and our project manager who before covid got told to come into the office have barely been in.

When the kids are at school working from home is great as it's quiet instead of the disruptions I get in the office.

Also instead of making my lunch I can get more variety at home.

I've only known of one person who has had a reaction to the flu vaccine. That ended up with the injection area being hard and pusy (not sure of the spelling but no I don't need the extra s).

I usually have a sore arm overnight and feel like I have a cold for a day.

Not sure if the vaccine covers the dreaded man flu though.

Myself and our 3 kids recovered pretty quick but my wife a month later still has a constant bad headache. Initially she would take pain killers and they wouldn’t work. Now a month later she gets 4 hours relief before the headache comes back.

She is slowly getting better but basically living on painkillers with a constant headache. Long covid

COVID-19 deaths​

Today we are sadly reporting the deaths of 16 people with COVID-19. All these deaths occurred within the past seven days.

They take the total number of publicly reported deaths with COVID-19 to 1,488 and the seven-day rolling average of reported deaths is 12. 

Of the people whose deaths we are reporting today; four were from the Auckland region, two were from Waikato, two were from Hawke’s Bay, one was from MidCentral, two were from Taranaki, one was from Wairarapa, one from Wellington, two were from Canterbury, and one was from the Southern region.

One person was aged between 10 and 19 years, three were in their 70s, six were in their 80s and six were over 90. Of these people, 11 were male and five were female.

This is a very sad time for whānau and friends and our thoughts and condolences are with them. Out of respect, we will be making no further comment on these deaths.

Well, I thought I had covid a few months back but continued to test negative. Seemed to have all the symptoms and felt like shit. My oldest son came home with it that same week and luckily had very mild reaction.

Then, around four weeks ago I went to Christchurch for business for a day. Came home and didnt feel great. Put it down to the flights which I dont enjoy, usually get blocked ears or sinus and takes a day or two to get over so didnt think much of it. Developed a bit of a chesty cough and a sore throat over the next couple of days. did RATs and tested negative. Around day three or four got smashed quite hard, tested positive and ended up in bed sleeping for the best part of 3 days. Bad cough, no energy, no concentration, cold shakes and sweats at various times. for me it would be similar feeling and symptoms to the worst flu I have had (no blocked or runny nose though) but probably twice as bad. Wife showed similar symptoms but 2 or 3 days behind mine and tested positive but hers was mild compared to mine. son who had covid previously was fine and other son who hasn't had it but is vaxed didn't get it at all. Its taken until this week to get back to somewhere around normal. Still have spells of tiredness, have a bit of a nagging cough, but the worst part is a tightness in the lungs (best way I can describe it) I don't have trouble breathing but there is a tightness i can feel and when I try and do somethings that I had been easily capable of i need to take a break. mowing the lawns for example, I managed to just get through and compete but I was absolutely exhausted and needed to take a long break after that. I have heard from others who have similar issues, all men so far. Generally fit people previously who are struggling to return to doing their normal things. Rounds of golf not able to be gotten through, road cyclists who usually spend hours on a ride having to stop after 20-30minutes etc.

My wife has recently tested positive and has been not feeling well for a few days. Mainly just tired. I have been testing myself every second day and had a few days feeling tired with a runny nose but every test has been negative.
Not sure I put too much faith in the RATS testing

It took me 4 days of symptoms before I got a positive and even then the line was so faint that it barely registered.

We started doing the down the back of the throat as people have suggested. Seemed more likely to get a positive and with kids it was a bit easier than wrestling with them until you get the test completed.

I was wandering when our next level announcement would be as they were meant to be on a regular cycle again. It was every two weeks for a while then they said mid May with no date and randomly announced it one day. It was then supposed to be in June. We are nearly in July now.

Articles like this likely mean we will be on the status quo.

This looks like their low vaccination rates coming back to bite them.
