Cook Islands Rugby League (CIRL) will have to wait until next month before it receives any notice of a compensation deal from New Zealand Rugby League for the cancelled Kiwis-Kukis test match.
NZRL was due to discuss possible compensation packages for the CIRL as recompense for pulling out of the October 6 test match in Rarotonga.
NZRL was due to hold its annual general meeting on January 16, but was forced to postpone it until February.
CIRL international director Kevin Iro said the two organisations were continuing their discussions on compensation in the meantime.
Iro said the Cook Islands was also continuing to work on a proposed four-nations contest between it, England, Wales and France for the end of the year.
He said CIRL would be in a better position to comment on its plans ahead of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup once it was certain of the level of compensation it would receive from NZRL.

Lets hope that the CIRL get something.

Can you imagine if the Australian RL had of done the same thing to us? The NZRL have got off lightly on this especially now that they seem to be heading in the right direction.

I saw the CI play in the RU 7s and there were a few CIRL internationals playing. Kevin Iro did the same thing a few years ago.
