Staff Coaching Candidates 2022/23

Think he might be more to do with attack, not completely sure but Cayless was the other assistant at tigers under Maguire and would assume he was more defensive assistant. Definitely need a defensive assistant now not named Justin Morgan.
Was there something wrong with the defence last game?
Or is morgan a favorite whipping boy?
I'd make a fair bet that during Brown's tenure both Jones and Morgan's influence in their respective roles was hamstrung by Brown whose policy was my way or the highway. Think he's been responsible for a lot happening, or not happening since he came on board.
Or am I missing something about Morgan altogether?

Hannay is well renowned for his defence and is the master behind the shutdown of cleary in game 1. Morgan was also defence coach on Anzac Day and the warriors were playing the tigers who weren't threatening on attack.

Last game was great but there’s not a lot to like about his assistant roles over the last 10 years. Went to the raiders in 2012 and the finished 2nd to last and 2013 3rd to last, then went to the storm where they were knocked out in week 1 of the finals in both years with him involved. Came back here in 2020 and there hasn’t been a great deal of change to say he’s made a difference.

Thanks for the background, makes it easier to see where the criticism comes from.
Be interesting to see what Webster does, heard he's a good communicator too so that has to be a positive.

It's hard to tell whether it was the loss of Brown or the inclusion of Campion because they overlapped. But as others have said the Tigers arn't really a good barometer for having your defensive structure tested anyway.

If we are still working with that ridiculous jamming structure whilst somehow still getting rolled through the middle over the next month then that's all Morgan.

Can we please move on now?

Andrew Webster - New Warriors Coach - Check
Rhys Walsh off to Brisbane - Check
Rhys Walsh still continue to play for Warriors - (at this stage) - Check

Some people are still pissed off that they got Webster as coach, well he's better than those who don't really want to come here, and realistically couldn't get. So it's time to get behind the man, and support him, until bad results go his way, and then you can all pop up and start being pissed off again.

Yes we are losing Walsh. I'm over it. He still gets to play for us at this stage, so enjoy the last few weeks with him. Will he become a star at Brisbane? Maybe but best of luck to him.
