Wellington Warrior
Not really any need for the owner to keep bagging people after they leave the club…

I don't like the connotations in the context of that conversation at all.whats wrong with that line. He actually does own the team. Its not a bullshit statement like most of us make. Given the way things ended with Shaun Johnson they defn needed to have a conversation. Given the tone of his statement after saying he never thought Shaun Johnson would come back there must have been a lot of talk first. Probably put in place by POS
(Btw, everytime i see POS i think Piece of Shit. Just had to share that).
What he needs is success, or he just looks like an idiot with a big mouth. I can cope with it if we’re winning.Robinson might yet prove to be a huge problem for the club, but I think people are being too sensitive and reading too much into it. He doesn't seem like the sort to mince words and that can rub people the wrong way, but in a purely business sense it's about sorting the chaff from the wheat. I don't think he means as much as people are taking from this, but thankfully I also don't think he gives a fuck.
Agree that its good he is passionate. I just think the problem that may come to a head later if he keeps burning bridges....doesn't hurt to have good relationships with people. Having his say on Pos like this serves no purpose other than an ego flex.Robinson might yet prove to be a huge problem for the club, but I think people are being too sensitive and reading too much into it. And having a big ego is a bad thing in a sport where ego is king?Being too sensitive or not all you have it ask is what positives could possibly come from this article and him saying that. I can't think of one, nor do I actually believe it. He is only worried about his own ego
Pt Chev did pretty well?Sounds like Brown is lucky to keep his job....
Bad form bagging an ex employee, you never know when we might be dealing with them again.
And it is his club, he owns it and is the ultimate boss....hence a certain ex player being bought back into the fold....
Fine, but if you want to fire at him refuse to release him, or do it in private. These public shots after he’s gone remind me of our round 25 game v the titansYeah Robbo likes to speak loosely and honestly to media. But really what do we know about POS on a personal level? Fuck all. I don't know, maybe because I work in construction I like black and white. But I back the club, back the owner over a guy who has a shady past who fucked off as soon as he got a better opportunity.
POS is due a little heat, and that's pretty gentle.
???Pt Chev did pretty well?
Perhaps. But Rugby League is generally speaking a fairly small community. High profile staff recruitment targets would be put off by those comments. There is really no need to say that in public. It doesn't help us going towards the future at all.I agree that to some degree the comments are likely out of context - media loves a story. Also, does POS give a shit about these kind of comments? I fucking doubt it - that dude operates only a much thicker skinned level and had done plenty in his time to draw criticism. Does POS deserve comments like this for how he left? Actually yeah. Was he a bad at his job? No, I thought he was excellent. Is he likely to have come back to the Warriors if Robbo hadn't made these comments? Unlikely.
So what does this all mean?
Nothing. Storm in a teacup. Just an owner saying "get on board or fuck off, we want people who want to be here, let's focus on succeeding".
Don't overcomplicate it.
I don't disagree.Perhaps. But Rugby League is generally speaking a fairly small community. High profile staff recruitment targets would be put off by those comments. There is really no need to say that in public. It doesn't help us going towards the future at all.
Robinson made a comment suggesting POS didn't know or understand the club culture. What exactly is our culture? Are we really that different from any professional sporting club? Professional clubs are meant to be run in a professional way. Sorry, but there was nothing professional in what was said. Blunt? Perhaps. But professional clubs adhere to different standards. Cant see Melbourne ever saying that about a staff member who had left.
Possibly Robinson wasn’t all in on the recruiting of so many players with past behaviour issues was the reference to our culture?Robinson made a comment suggesting POS didn't know or understand the club culture. Agree with the bluntness but Melbourne probably not the best example of a professional club. They were a club that had a culture of cheating and once sprung publicly hung each other out to dry. It was also a joke that the players had no knowledge of what was going on.Perhaps. But Rugby League is generally speaking a fairly small community. I mean it's not like Robinson is some genius business person either...I mean on one hand the article and generally the sentiment is that he's like an ultra capitalist win at all costs I'm 50 and gave a 18 year olds haircut kind of guy.
I'd like the warriors to win..... but yeah not with a sour taste ...
