Internationals Anzac test

Lockyer's kicking was the difference, Marshall didn't fire until the last 10 minutes and by then it was too late. Foran was far too quiet for a test half IMO and his D needs work, Thaiday was running at him all game.

Rapira was good, FPN did his job but JWH was a bit of a dissappointment, he got a bit toey at times but didn't have the venom or passion I expected after all the hype.

If Vatuvai had played we'd have won that I reckon, Aussies didn't look that slick without Cam Smith.

Costigan

That would have to be the worst commentry I have heard. Not sure if its my tv, but no crowd noise or time clock. Not getting time in warriors games either. Costo " SHOCKING".

I had the same thing, marlin.

I suspect Sky's HD Widescreen has gone more widescreen than my and a lot of other people's widescreen TV can handle.

If we have to have Costo, can someone show him how to mime his commentary, or trick him into believing he doesn't need to speak because we know what he's going to say (actually, lots of us do, anti-Warriors and anti-Kiwis, hint, hint). That way we won't have to hear his drivel!

Oranges at half time used to sound funny, now it just sounds stupid.

And he's obviously getting a back hander from Steeden. Why else doesn't he just call that oval thing a football??

Im glad i go too all the Warriors home game so i dont have to listen to Costigan...The commentary was shocking.worst i have ever heard.i wanted to punch Costigan in the face.

I thought Marshall and Foran did the best they could for the ball and field position we had.

Matulino.Heremaia and Hohaia had no business playing in that test.all of them are way out of form

Once upon a time I used to be able to tolerate Costo's commentary...

'Stacks on the mill!'... seriously, wtf is he on about?!

Right so what do we do about Sky's game clock that no bastard can see even with HD wide screen TV's and what can we do about Costigan?
I've checked out there website but you have to sign up to email them and i can't be arsed with that.

phil gould's even worse

LOL - in the first half Gould said the Kiwis should go for a field goal to make it 1-0 so at least they had something on the board. And then a few (ergo, a lot) of times he claimed New Zealand were out on their feet and Australia were lifting to run over them.

Rapira is one of the form props in the game...like what Zeb Taia brought to the game

Nightingale and Hohaia was rubbish.Perrett was good.but overall our back 3 posed no threat

I thought Florence was quite good, him and Sammy Perrett defused a fair few kicks and did a lot of real good work out of dummy half. Sam Perrett in particular was busting a lot of tackles early in the set to get us on the front foot.

Hohaia, yeah a couple of poor fumbles. Nevermind. Nice ball to put Nightingale over. They seemed a little more organised when they went for a wide spread and he kind of played like a rugby union 2nd five eighth acting as the third ball player getting it on nice and wide.

Rapira, Taia, Harrison, Blair, Manu... I thought our pack was terrific.

Where's that list of players that were out?

Vatuvei
Tuiaki
Mannering
Asotasi
Eastwood
Fien
Jeremy Smith
Frank Pritchard

Two things - firstly, to Ivan Cleary, look what Steve Kearney did with an under strength team. They looked motivated. They looked passionate. Our blokes play like robots at the Warriors. Secondly, imagine how good our squad is going to be when all those blokes are available. I'm feeling it... I really feel New Zealand is about to become a very consistent test nation regularly competing against Australia. Notice, there was no bullshit from them in the media about it being a mid year test, they just got in there and f'ed the Australian pack right up. If not for a dodgy penalty on Matulino, the Kiwis could have got this one.

That seems to be a go to saying of Goulds cause he has nothing else to say. "Team A is tiring and out on it's feet"
He says week in week out.

Good effort by the Kiwis, Sam Rapira was probably the best for the Kiwis, Sam Perrett was good, along with Zeb Taia. We looked our best when Isaac Luke was running from dummy half, we lost that momentum when Aaron Heremaia came on, you really noticed the difference between an international player and an average club player, Heremaia is not up to international standard, this is what the Warriors are wasting their time on players like Heremaia, this is what Ivan is investing his time in. He looked slow and off the pace and lacked power, Kearney was better off having Alex Glenn on the bench to play hooker, atleast there would have been a lot more speed and power.

Sika Manu - what a comeback, he played well, i thought it would be a good 2 years for him to find form after such a bad injury, but he played well, hope he carries that on for the Storm.

Foran/Marshall combo didnt gel, both natural five eights, play their best footy at five eights, not sure if this is the long term combo for the future, excellent five eights, but we need a specialist halfback, perhaps Arana Taumata once he gets fit and cements the halfback job for the Tigers he could be the one, but then again hes more a five eight than halfback, Shaun Johnson aswell.

What was that for again? High? I lost my voice for most of night after screaming at this one.

High shot, apparently, although the whistle only blew after Thaiday threw his band bag into the key's basket.

Its a hard comparison to compare many hookers to Luke. He's an outstanding runner. I didn't think Heremaia was bad at all, when he was on we were kind of camping in their 30m zone and you could visibly see Foran and Marshall calling plays, it'd be kind of nuts for a test debutant to over rule them on an instinct play. I think Heremaia makes a good club hooker, what he needs in behind him though is a player who is a bit more elusive than Henderson.

I thought the refereeing was of extraordinarily good quality last night. Good calls, in my opinion, all around, apart from the touchie missing Cronk loosing control of that loose ball.

No suprise to me Zeb Taia was nz's best yardage man, everytime he got the ball he made good quality meters he was very quick off the mark.

Personally if I was Dean Bell i would get rid of Aaron Heremaia at the Warriors, sign Masada Iosefa, and there we have two promising hookers in Mara and Iosefa.

I agree with you on Heremia. His passing was so slow and laboured compared to that of Luke, it really robbed the ball carriers of momentum while they slowed just fractionally waiting for the pass to arrive.

Yeah Silverwood did a fine job lastnight. I really got pissed off with Costigan bagging the ref.
9/10 in my book for the ref lastnight.

Yes the the pommy ref was good i thought...game flowed well

NRL need to scrap the two refs.they need to get a better feel for the game also

Costigan is a dickhead.

The haka was outstanding. The Kiwis do the haka better than the All Blacks and better than any other NZ sporting team. Sam Rapira, Isaac Luke, and Benji Marshall.
