i'm happy with that side,,, should do some damage,,, i rate eastwood i think hes gonna be a star

Lol you said my side was no good.
At the end of the day I'm pissed off this side was never going to win this game.

So many ball playing forwards left too much work for Asotasi Cayless and fa'alogo they tried to make that up by using Halatau at hooker but it was never gonna work the backs had no chance with the back row all in their business.

Mannering named at centre played most of the game in the forwards had nothing left to stop the late onslaught I named him at 6 everyone said thats stupid he cant kick we only scored through his grubber.
Inu played well his drop led to a try but cant blame that for the loss.
Sammy way outta his depth and this did nothing to bleed him into international footbal.
Eastwood was a passenger that didnt even chip in for gas.
Benji Marshall was only a millisecond out in everything he did.
Soliola played as well as he could with SBW and Frank all up in the backline tackled all night.

Agree with you Mone Asotasi,Fa'alago got through a mountain of work.

Mannering however only packed in the forwards at scrum time. Played at centre the rest of the time.

It was Roberts who dropped the bomb, not Inu, whom i thought didn't look out of place there.

One word: execution. That was our downfall tonight.

I was really impressed with Asotasi and Inu.

It looked at one stage, like the flood gates were wide open, I think we did well not to let things blow out. Benji was getting close to really opening things up, we looked a lot better when he was more involved. Eastwood impressed as well - he looked pretty comfoy in a test match scenario.

Barely saw Frank P, he's playing well, but not sure what happened to him tonight . . .

Nah it definately was Inu that dropped the bomb but I think he played well but Eastwood shux they may as well have played Brent todd

No, that was Roberts. The commentator referred to him as Roberts and he had a big number 7 on his back. McClennan switched the two around, to our detriment.

In my team I wanted Jeremy Smith at halfback. I'm convinced he should have been there if for no other reason than he's a much better organiser than both Roberts and Benji. It would have allowed Benji to worry about his running game and leave the rest to Smith.

Still, all things considered, not bad for a team with five debutants (Including Roberts as I refuse to acknowledge that farce of a test in England last year).

I concur, It definitely was Roberts - the commentators just stuffed up.
Still not sure why Bluey made that switch... maybe Roberts was covering, I don't know.

The most disappointing player in our team was Sonny Bill. He had the worst game I've ever seen him play in the black and white jersey. He certainly didn't play like a superstar - Lockyer, on the other hand... all class.

Inu was brilliant - saved the Mason "try" and was as safe as the Bank of England. Only one error - he has as much potential as Karmichael (who also had a terrific game). Once more we got caught out wide with wingers leaving too much space for their opposites - seemingly a common NZ trait increasingly being exploited by Aussie teams. The Aussie tactic of scooting from dummy half was also a master stroke that we couldn't counter or replicate.

All in all, not a bad effort and we would definitely derive more benefit from the game.

Well, Sonny-Bill only has about three to choose from, does he not? :lol1:

That was Lockyer's 40th test. Does that make him the most capped Australian? I get a feeling he'd be second...

1st - Ruben Wiki (NZ) - 55
2nd - Gary Freeman (NZ), Stacey Jones (NZ), Gilbert Benausse (FRA), Garry Schofield (GB), Mick Sullivan (GB) - 46
3rd - Stephen Kearney (NZ) - 45

?th - Darren Lockyer (AUS) - 40

I feel like someone else from Australia should be above him, like Wally Lewis, perhaps? Gasnier, Beetson, Raper?

Not sure what game you were watching

His defence was superb - he saved 2 or 3 possible tries by desperation defence

He looked dangerous on attack, broke the advantage line everytime he got the ball - you have to bear in mind the aussies were swarming him

I thought he was unlucky a couple of times with being stripped of possession.

I was really impressed with SBW

I agree - he was the everywhere man. I thought that the halves should have tested the line a bit more rather than just throwing it to Sonny Bill.

Is Puleatua a spent force now? Sort of went MIA.

He's not the rampaging player he used to be and definitely aint a workaholic on defence.

What use is he to the team? Maybe prop beckons for him.

Agree completely, for me SBW and INU were the standouts. Soliola also had his moments.

Puletua, webster, mannering disappointed me

i posted T. Puletua as my "mom" before the test. omg!! wah tha fah was i thinkin'!! 2 good solid tackles from 'em in the 1st 5mins, & then he was casper the ghost for the next 70 odd *shakes head*
but that dude Inu did good, real good. there were a couple of ball returns where he faced 3-4 forwards bearin' down on 'em, & @ point of impact, he sent 1-2 of them reeling. i enjoyed that :D. he looked relaxed on attack also, maybe a bit too relaxed, but you know.
mistakes @ the wrong end of the field (& @ the right end aswell) were killer to watch. killer i say!! Sonny bill was Sonny Bill, he had his moments. but he's way more effective coming off the bench Bluey (sez me, a guy with absolute no coaching experience @ all, so i'll shut-up). & no-one in the young K1W1S squad really put their stamp on the game did they... or did they? 24pts tells me not.
let's not forget the ref. no, he had a brilliant game, both he & his monkeys yes. i would fully recommend the 3 a them take charge of each & every game... for the 12yr olds maybe!! just who's choice is it to allow such bafoons into our game is beyond me.
never mind, we lost *shrugs* let's take it on the chin & then ignore every australian that we know for the the rest of the year... lol.

oh, & as good as Ricky Stuart was back in the day... he really is a 'ickhead, with a capital PR!!

I'll agree his defence was pretty good... but come on, his attack was pretty poor by his standard. I expected much more from him.

I thought we did very well. IT was Roberts who dropped the bomb, but it is not his job to catch it really....

We need more time together.. We will be a good team
