First of all I just want to say that after 4 rounds of NRL, Mannering is not deserving of the kiwis captaincy. Benji is way more passionate. More passionate then Mannering thats for sure. Kearney made this decision to take the limelight from his crap coaching. Go the kiwis

id be starting SBW and JWH, they are destructive. JWH is pure power on attack and defence. SBW is solid on defence and his offload is a spark that ignites a backline.

Benji may be passionate, but he's a crap leader at the moment. Too much emotion, too much inconsistency.

As you know, I am a massive Locke "fanboi" but even I can't put him in the Kiwis starting team atm. He needs to increase his workload (or at least maintain Monday's work) for a few weeks to get in. He would definitely be in my World Cup squad, but not the ANZAC Test, yet.

I am totally clueless to the other members of the team right now. I haven't watched enough of the games.

Tuivasa Sheck will have a few fingers on that jersey too, hard to pick FB at the moment with Hoffman on the wing, he's a pretty good winger too.

Love that backrow, two solid defenders in Mannering and Williams, plus two attacking weapons in Eastwood and Williams.

What I am loving about the Kiwis at the moment is that it is hard to pick a team because oif who you have to leave out, rather than finding someone from reserve grade to fill a position.

Lots of different teams being posted on here that are hard to argue with, this is a good sign. There seem to be quite a few good Kiwi props running around in the NRL at the moment, hard to pick just four for the test.

No smith?

Nah, i went with Eastwood based on form, he has been very good both offensively and defensively so far this season. The old head Smith brings was a factor, but theres no shortage of big game experience in the side, so i picked the form player.

Todays team, I believe the world cup final is the blueprint and this team should be able to replicate, IMO at some stage all the halves and Luke should be on the field, Foran in a loose forward playmaking role. Marshall isn't playing that badly at the moment considering how his pack is being dominated and Shaun Johnson is the number 1 half back we have easily..I'm glad I can write that, it makes me happy:D .
Eastwood or Glenn there isn't room for both.
This team is closer than my last IMO, I expect Manu to be there abouts come World cup time.

1.Hoffman
2.Nightingale
3.Whare
4.SKD - Hurrell in this team he would be an absolute weapon with enough defensive fire power to null any frailties from halves and centres, all the centres and halves have them apart from Foran.
5.Tuivasa-Sheck
6.Marshall
7.Johnson
8.Matulino
9.Luke
10.JWH
11.Mannering-he did just enough at the weekend, I want more though.
12.SBW
13. Smith

14. Foran probably should start ahead of Benji but seems like the best utility we have and can add another dimension when he comes on.
15. McKendry /LimaTaupau/Fa'alogo
16. Bromwhich /Moa/Setu
17. Eastwood Glenn /Harrison/Proctor/Harris / FPN/Taumalolo/Horo/Halatau[DOUBLEPOST=1364949046][/DOUBLEPOST]

I dispute that, Smith has been playing same ol Jeremy Smith, even in there hiding from Manly he was one of the few that could hold his head high, Eastwood was good against the Bunnies but has been ho hum in the rest.
Smith is a certain starter IMO.

Smith probably will be a certain starter, but i chose to go with Eastwood for the reasons i gave, right or wrong.

Eastwoods a very good International player

He gets it.

When there's a stink on he throws the punch that matters...runs hard, hits hard.

Club form will only take you so far , some players just don't get what it means to pull on the Jersey , formerly Sonny Bill Williams would be a good example.

Zeb Taia went mental when he got his run for the Kiwis in team full of stars those lesser known guys who played with spirit were the only players that got picked for NZ pre Ausiefication / Winfield cup / NRL only teams.

He was fantastic in that test match.

I remember Tame Tupou went nuts on the wing on debut. Would be nice to have a bolter. A madman like Carl Webb when he played Origin...

That honestly scares the shit out of me. I never want to see these two paired up. What would happen if they both chose the same game to go missing? I would play one of them with Foran, but never both together.

Sidenote: I think Fien has put his hand up in the last couple of games. He wasn't looking good, but from what I have seen and heard is really starting to do the business. I might be tempted to start Foran and Marshall in the halves and have Fien as our utility, if his form continues.

Have you seen Fein's last 2 games? His last game was good but his first 3 were shocking. Anyway, he retired from International footy last year...
