If you picked a kiwis team on form tomorrow would Roger Tuivasa-Sheck be an automatic selection ?

Would say Ben Matulino's recent head to head battle with Adam Blair see him picked ahead of Kearney's in house boy ?

I notice Blair's not featuring large in this thread, for mine at least.....for what it is worth.. He has been the form Kiwi forward so far in 2016.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck wouldn't be an automatic selection - but given the dearth of kiwi fullbacks in the comp - who else would you pick? Without naming someone in a less preferred position, I think he gets the nod. Plus his running metres are valuable.

Re: Blair vs Matulino - realistically, both will be in the mix somewhere unless injury or suspension kicks in. The more interesting question - will Packer be in the mix somewhere? I'd love to see Rusty and Mutts team up again. Might bring back Matulino's A-game.

He’s the only kiwi starting every week in the number 1, if that counts for anything.

Hiku isn’t, Josh Hoffman isn’t, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is on the wing for Penrith. Jordan Kahu likewise. Kevin Locke doesn’t have a club.

I can't recall Roger ever having to make a try saving tackle from fullback for the kiwis, he probably has, but the kiwi line isn't breached 2, 3, times in a half like the warrior one is.

On your last point - go back to the first test match against England end of last season. The English breached our line a few times. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck made 2-3 really good front on 1 on 1 stops on some of the English players.

Yeah my understanding is that he's eligible for the Kiwis but I think his preference is SOO but don't quote me on that. If you include Kiwi eligible players whose preference is to play SOO but haven't the depth is even more amazing.

With his hamstring issues. I wouldn't be surprised if the eels rule him out of the test match. Which would mean Hiku probably to 6. Don't see Benji been selected.

He hasn’t turned out for them though, and is stuck behind JT, CC, DCE, Hunt, Milford, Morgan…

He’s not getting a game for QLD now or in the future, that might be enough for him to change sides

If he wants to play for us - I'm fine with that. If he wants to play for us because he's not getting a shot with Qld/Aus - that's not cool by me.

I now find it ironic that Tamou chose to represent Australia, I was filthy when he made the call, but maybe he was just psychic. I don't know that he'd make the kiwis team even if eligible these days

I don't think he'll ever play SOO in my opinion. But at least he's wanting to stick to his guns, and not using the Kiwis as a way to play representative football.
