Internationals All Stars 2021

Gotta say it. I for one applaud the decision not to release key players. The reasons given are unique to this season, genuine and realistic. We get taken for a ride often enough as it is. If the club doesn't exist, they don't have a job and we don't have a NZ team to support.

On ya bike Kiddy. This time club comes first. Tough call but the right one for the right reasons.

Not sure why nathan brown and others keep saying its our one and only trial?? Ive heard it a few times. Curently we are scheduled for 2 trial games, the storm on the 20th and titans on the 27th according to nrl.com
I hope this isnt the first sign of incompetence by nathan brown and the club
Or have they canceled the second trial??

The Storm trial on the 20th is only for players who played 12 games or less from last season.

Strange requirement but if Brown wants to work on combinations that game won’t be very helpful as most of the top side won’t qualify.

Good.... giving Rocco, Turner, Haze the 2 young hookers and whoever's on the fringe a good solid run will be a good watch, hope they televise it.... Love to see what they have to offer

there's more eligible for that game than you'd think, afoa, ah mau, Fusitua, ken, montoya, Ben Murdoch-Masila, o'sullivan, perham, curran they can trot out half a first grade team if they want to

Well with Melbourne in lock down 7 players wont be playing nine news in Brisbane just reported.
Seven of the Storm's biggest names have been ruled out of the NRL All Stars clash due to the five-day Victorian lockdown announced on Friday.

Indigenous flyer Josh Addo-Carr and Maori All Stars reps Jesse and Kenny Bromwich, Reimis and Brandon Smith, Jahrome Hughes and Nelson Asofa-Solomona have all been scratched from next Saturday's season-opener in Townsville.

Starting with the big picture and working backwards, the new strains are a new level of threat to the NRL competition.

Last years model for keeping the competition going will have to be re thought. Outwardly not much will change in terms of the restrictions of the NRL bubble, internally they will be packing bricks at NRL HQ.

They will have to have a serious think around how they protect the competition from the new model of containment.

Rapid shut downs of states without warning, level four, that is what the NRL need to be thinking about, until there is herd immunity in Australia.

This one example has basically wrecked a match.

During season proper, that could have been the Storm unable to host or travel to a match.

The same applies to all teams that will be hoping for interstate travel.

The key takeaway, is that with the new strains, you get little to no warning of pending lock downs, unlike what people saw last year....where there was a lag in the incubation period of the virus....I will not go into it in detail here, there is a covid thread already.

Tell you what from watching the Haka and aboriginal dance, if I had to come up against the Maori girls or the aboriginal girls, the Maori girls will scare the hell out of me but the aboriginall Girls Just Want to Dance

Maori all-star women are looking the better team at the moment. Does anyone know what the women's State of Origin eligibility rules are? Is it the same as the men's where you had to be playing in one of the states younger than the age of 14?
