Thurston would have qualified if he weren't retiring. Eastwood might sneak onto the bench. I'm sure there are a ton of other guys with small amounts of Maori blood playing over in Aussie.

Not for the Maori. Thurston is asked in this clip if his dad is Maori, to which he says no.

The team I would like to see. Gagai would obviously pick the Indigenous first.
But he still qualifies through his Maori Mum. Corey Norman the same.
And before someone asks. Walker is Maori/Pitcairn Islander.

What fraction of heritage can include someone to that race? 1/32?
As long as you have any Maori blood and want to play for us. That's my personal perspective. I'm anti stereotype. Which means you don't judge people by how they fit into a type. A team based on ethnicity must be genetics based. Not personality-based.

They used to, dont know nowadays....I'm sure they would...same group after all.

Wonder because “technically” aren’t the Cook Islands “part” of NZ? but now they have their own national team if it changes the status of the Māori team?
