Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere but he looks likely to debut this weekend.

Michael Luck was on Radio Sport this morning and when the possibility of Mara playing this weekend was brought up, Michael Luck was talking in very definite terms of him playing. E.g. "He's done his time in the lower grades", "I'm looking forward to playing along side him this weekend". Sooo yeah.. exciting for him.

What Ive seen of him I think it was last year playing in the U20s was great! If hes continued this form this year and has proven hes worth a shot at the top grade then even better!

He reminds me (with the 3 or 4 U20s games Ive seen) of PJ exploding out of dummy.

Yeah the crowd does get pretty loud I guess, could make it hard to communicate with Maloney and Buster... but if he sticks to the game plan he'll be right. I'm more worried about the possibility he might get overawed by the occasion.

Halfback Brett Seymour, stand off James Maloney and centre Joel Moon were left out of the Warriors team as it travelled to Sydney this afternoon to prepare for Saturday's NRL game against Manly.

According to leading sources in Australian broadcasting circles, "there names were just a little too difficult to take the piss out of."

Wayne Pearce was heard loudly insisting that "Hohi" play under any circumstances and that if he didn't, that at last "Ta Eye" had to or he would no longer feel comfortable calling Warriors games. It is not sure who "Junior" Pearce was referring to, we think he was referring to Lance Hohaia. "Ta Eye" Might be Ukuma Ta'ai.

Hope Mara has a good debut - if indeed he does have one. Over-roared or not.

Haha...ahhh awesome.

But yeah on a serious note, tough game for him to debut in...away at Brookvale against a Manly team on the rebound, both teams looking for a top 4 spot...to state the obvious. He'll go well IMO, won't get a huge amount of time, but he'll go okay.

Yeah, sorry bout that Mrblonde, it is actually pronounced Ta eye not Tie as some say. But Junior Pearce can't get his head around Hohaias' name at all! I think I heard Ohio, i.e the American state.

I'm looking forward to Alehana getting his chance. I remember when he was in a one-two combo with Arron Pawley in the U20s. It was brilliant. Arron was a very shrewd hooker IMO (enormously underrated) who seemed to know how to drag markers and A defenders out and put his forwards into gaps through the line. Alehana was just lightning, blistering out of dummy half. I can see a time in our near future (next 24 month) where we could have Mara and Seluini interchanging, which would be epic IMO.

I think you misheard the Luck Truck, Dan. He didn't talk about Mara playing in a definite sense - just that he's training with the squad and has exciting qualities that would enable him to play well if he gets selected.

Henderson is going to be given every chance to play, but my gut feeling is that he'll be out and Mara will debut off the bench with Heremaia as our starting hooker.

As I said before, hope it goes better then Tai'ai's debut in Manly...that said, he looked really good in the trial I saw him play in this year...fingers crossed he can show his under 20s form out the blocks

His debut has been eagerly awaited.
One of the best players in the whole u20s comp last year.
In the 20-25 minutes he gets it may be enough to show he is the best hooker in the club
