It will be a tie between the Dragons and the Dolphins.

Dolphins do not have the cattle
Dragons are in turmoil and are not far away from imploding.

Dolphins will surprise a few teams, they looked good on the week, I think we need to remember they have the half the melbourne pack from last year.

That's been us for the last decade. A new coach, lots of new players. Talented but not necessarily a good fit with each other. Lacking cohesion that comes with time.
A far cry from the new dawn that's trumpeted when the signings are made. And gee, we consume it like a cold beer after working outside on a hot summers day.

I think the Tigers given themselves every chance of the spoon with Benji. I know he's an experienced player, but who has he previously coached?

Dragons are favourites. Tigers look ordinary. Dolphins will struggle when they have injuries through the season in their forward pack.
Dogs also looked average at best despite their big money offseason splurge. Just shows that you can recruit with cash, but that does not buy you passion for the jersey.

Tigers for the spoon. Roosters to miss the 8.
Penrith to fall back into the pack, Cowboys for minor premiers.

How’s that for a starter for 10?

To be fair a few of the Dogs big spending recruits aren't due til next year.

Idk something feels different about the Warriors this year. I think we'll be more competitive than last year.

I can see both the Knights and Dragons having a terrible start, then sacking their coaches. My gut feel is the Dragons will improve after, too much class in the roster. I mean Griffen has just signed and played too many bums like Mbye and McGuire, even Woods (although I think he still has gas in the tank). And the Knights will stay bad, so they're my tip for spoon. They have little depth, especially in the forwards and backline. If Ponga goes down again, it's hard to see where their spark comes from. Dolphins are still a bottom 3 team.

I would say us, Titans, Tigers and Dogs have too many good players to get the spoon, unless something blows up. Raiders will slide this year IMO, I think Ricky has lost his shine and the roster is aging and not improving.

I thought Cowboys were going to suck last year, so what do I know.

I think it was more so because the Dolphins are a bit of an unknown.

Interesting Phil Gould reckons Dragons definitely won't get the spoon, wonder who he thinks will get it.

Started with dolphins, then moved to the dogs but after watching today I can’t see it- their defense is too good- ciraldo has done a great job with that.
Hard to go past the tigers now which is hard to believe with the roster they’ve got but the whole thing is a mess- u don’t even know who’s calling the shots.

A lot of people were picking the Tigers to be one of the teams that will improve. Mainly due to their recruitment.

We hardly rated a mention even though we recruited well. We were arguably one of the most active in the market. Most of our guys were going to feature in the first grade side. We were going to have a different side. It was a matter of if the combinations would work and if things would work with the coach.

The Tigers signed bigger names and had a higher profile coaching team. The concerns raised for us also relate to the Tigers.

For a side that worked on their attack all off season it is a mess. Round 1 was moving the ball around but not achieving much. Other times they have looked lost.

Tigers are a mess but I see maybe scrapping together a couple of lucky wins

My initial pick was the Knights and they still might get it but the Tigers are just a steaming pile of crap atm. Their roster is not that bad perhaps not top 8 but it is good enough not to be where they are now.

I was believing it would be the dragons all off season. - but this Tigers team after 4 rounds has put together some of the worst NRL performances I have seen. Plenty of time though.... focussing on attack all off season and having it look like a shambles - while defence not a lot better.

I couldn’t believe it when they said they worked mostly on attack all off-season. Like they’ve already got their defence perfect hahaha

If Webby had said something like that in the pre-season I would have wanted him gone that day. Instead he’s the man!!!! Haha
