General 2023 Wooden Spoon Prediction

Yeah I don't see this good Dolphins forward pack people mention, I think their key forward signings are washed up. Their bench forwards are throwaways from other teams. And I just don't see where their points are going to come from aside from the odd Hammer individual piece of brilliance.
yeah that dolphins backline is pretty uninspiring - I still think it's the dragons that will go close to getting last, they're have a very poor squad

Bromich/Herman--JMK/Stone--Nicholls/Wallace
------Bromich/Aitken------Kaufusi/Lemuelu
------------Gilbert/Stone/Teague---------

I think the prop rotation is good. Herman, Wallace and Nicholls are PPM monsters.
Points come from 6 agains, repeat sets and pressure. They'll play like the boring Dragons of olde.

Dragon finished 10th last year. Pretty much the same squad on paper, yet some thing they are deadest woodspooners?

Makes no sense to me…

I think that is kind of the problem though.

Five of six teams that finished below them have all made moves to improve, namely us, the Dogs, and the Tigers. but the Knights and Titans now have halfbacks.

F*** knows with the Sea Eagles, they have lost Hasler, Foran, Walker, Taupau and Davey, but at least they still have a bunch of really talented players (that in some cases also happen to be either Homophobic or made of glass)

At the moment, my bottom four would be..
14. Sea Eagles
15. Titans
16. Knights
17. Dragons

U see the dolphins finishing above those 4 clubs?

We should also guess the first coach fired.
Holbrook
The old Hook
or Knightsmare AOB

Despite having zero runs on the board Seibold has wisely set himself up as the Bennett/Sheens/Gould-mould overlord of all he sees... with Flanagan being the blame buffer if anything goes wrong

Didn't really factor them in, but probably not.

I was going to put this in the Ladder Predictions thread but at the moment this is how I see things stacking up..

1-4: Cowboys, Panthers, Roosters, Sharks
5-7: Eels, Rabbitohs, Storm
8-10: Broncos, Bulldogs, Raiders
11-13: Dolphins, Tigers, Warriors
14-17: Dragons, Knights, Sea Eagles, Titans
(Alphabetical order, not saying the Cowboys will be 1st etc.)

I’ve gone for the Drags in our sweepstake but they always seem to surprise.

Apparently the big thing to come out of the titans end of year review was that they spent a lot less time on strength and conditioning than the other clubs.
That’s been their focus this off season so I expect (hope because they’re my second team) to see a more explosive side this year.
I think Holbrooks a good coach but that’s on him and maybe a hangover from his super league coaching days.
I agree that have a decent roster- there’s a good team in there somewhere.
This can't be good for your health, supporting the warriors AND the Titans.

Will V'landy's let the Fins fail?

Their four props are good, the pack is strong, they play hard fundamental football. They have no star to worry about, maybe Sulli or Marshall-King....

I think team culture/ mental strength in the face of adversity decrees who comes last. Sone teams fold, but the Dolphins and Dragons are ornery.

Broncos fold, Bulldogs fold, Warriors under Uncle Fester folded... I hope we don't again with our tough first 10 rounds, because afterwards we can make up some points.

Dragons' without Hunt are just a grumpy retirement villa.

In previous years, I would say the Sea Eagles without Turbo super suck too, but Seibold to his credit has overhauled their rubbish roster on the cheap where he could.
It's an interesting watch out there. Wonder what style they'll play now?
Outside of Gilbert the Dolphins are a pack of has-beens. J Brom needed to retire a couple of seasons ago. Interesting however that our reigning player of the year doesn’t seem to be in their top 17.

My bottom 4

Tigers
Dragons
Knights
Manly

Honarable mention Doldphins and Titans.

I think their pack is well-balanced and a better than average defensive side.

Gilbert 24 (1) and Wallace (6) 31 are both State of Origin reps.

Ray Stone is 25, Marshall-King is 27 and my man Herman Eseese is 28.

I doubt If these four joined the Melbourne Storm pack anyone would be looking down on them. Why the Storm?

...Because they also have 3 of last year's Storm STARTERS, more than the current Storm do.
Kaufusi is 30 and Kenny 31.

Aitken would be their backup 2nd row or Lemuelu.

They're going to play ugly slow defensive Dragon-esque football and for that they are fine.

I think his ego is too big, and does not come across as a guy who will lead his team. Just a punters opinion but i fell like hes the kind of guy who would hold his club at ronsom.
I think he is a lost individual
What was he doing it a toilet stall with Kurt Mann over the off season

I think they could easily beat us in round one and are a much better outfit than the 2021 Knights

Saifiti brothers up front
Frizell sexond row
A fantastic halves combination
Great Hooker

The only part we are better is our bench. Knights 1-13 is strong but dops away after that

Fair call. I actually think our forwards and bench are better than theirs, but their backs own ours.

Addin Fonua-Blake and Tohu Harris are better than the Safitis by some way.
Barnett is better than Fitz, Curran and Kurt Mann is no contest. Friz and Niukore I give them, but our bench is way better with Ale, Bunty and Walker.

Ponga, Hastings, Gagai, Marzhew got two tries against us didn't he? Best, and the pommy winger and Miller at FB.

Still I think we are better coached, and they are still gelling with Miller and Ponga both late to the party.
Plus they have a hole at prop 3.
