General 2023 Wooden Spoon Prediction

What team does everyone think will get the wooden spoon in 2023?

For me I am picking the Knights. I like Jackson Hastings but he touches the ball so much that I can see teams just getting in his face and shutting down the attack. I also have heard Ponga might be at 6 and last time he hardly set the world on fire. Combine that with Adam O'Brien who I do not rate and I can see them doing badly next year.

Im surprised that so many have the Dolphins as favourites. Probably bias as Im a huge fan of Wayne Bennett but I'm sure he'll have them firing.

According to the bookies the Warriors are mostly 2nd-4th to win it. I'm guessing the rookie coach and our form last season is mostly to blame but you have to agree its probably fair. I dont expect us to be that close to the bottom though.

Think the Tigers have recruited really well and probably wont get it bar some major injuries. The main question mark for me will be whether Tim Sheens and his rookie posse of old boys are still up to it. Still thinking they should make the top 8.

TBH I've barely kept up with the Warriors let alone any other team to be able to predict the spoon this year...

They have an incredibly old forward pack who's best days are behind them and an inexperienced or severely out of form spine. Wayne Bennett has struggled with bad teams before, he's not a miracle worker. I can see why the bookies have them last.

Personally, I tip the Dragons to get the spoon. I don't think Ben Hunt will be able to carry that team to 10th this season.

Yeah agree with all this- hard to go past the dolphins and I think $12 looks pretty juicy for the dragons- might get on that…

I think we will get the wooden spoon this year. Next year we will finish 10th or 11th. 2025-2027 regular finalists pushing for our first prem.

Based on form🤔, we are one of the few clubs who hasn't won the spoon since 1995, so WTF they have us third favourite beats me.

raiders could fall apart too - otherwise, yeah, dragons for me: they have organisational issues and could implode

I feel there are a group of teams (that includes us) that are 2 or 3 injuries away from a full season car crash

Warriors, Dolphs, Drags, Tits plus Knights and Tigs if their backlines don’t gel

Personally Warriors anywhere from 11th - 8th if we can create confidence with combinations and stay fit

Titans for the spoon

Raiders have the softest draw of all the teams and a better than average squad. No way they’re anywhere near last unless Sticky & Madge go full toxic.

I think Dolphins definitely favourite for the spoon, very average squad. We deserve to be in the mix however I think our depth is better than a couple of other clubs - if Newcastle have a few injuries then they could be in trouble. Dragons also look ordinary on paper, however that’s been the same every year & they never seem to get near it.

Dragons or Titans are good bets, not seeing any improvement in the Tits at all (recruitment) and another year of Holbrook banging the desk is going to be even less effective, after a promising first few initial weeks he’ll loose the players support early and be sacked by July.
