This is the most excited I've been about a trial game for a while. Just very intrigued as to what Webby will bring to this club.

Yeah I'm super pumped too. Loved seeing that Metcalf said usually these game can be a bit of mess but Webster has made it very clear what is expected of each of us! (I paraphrased).

I wasn't sure how I would get through the last 5 months with no NRL.

Oh - We might not see the benefit of Webster until next season (2024) or after as we are having a hard time recruiting. I will be patient regardless of what happens this year. No spoon, ideally no 50 point blowouts, better in the last 20 of games, a couple of 'career years' by players, at least three first caps, and a style of play that suits us..... and I will be happy moving forward into next season. Nothing to do with ladder position.

Thoughts on members only trial match? I would’ve thought they’d want as many people as possible, considering the 2nd trial is in chch and round 1 is in welly. I’m pretty disappointed but I can see both sides.

I checked back to 2015 and we’ve won every first pre-season trial in NZ except for 2020.

Looking forward to this ... 1st trial always shows us how much positional depth the club has... and more importantly if these young fellas can go out there and do the job the coach asks for ... this tests the young fellas footy IQ in a messy game...

We should win this one, we're trotting out twice as many first graders as them, and we're at home.

All eyes on which of the backs makes the most tackles..
Also what style Webby has installed on D and O. I think it's pretty basic, with the idea being that enables us to play fast.
Hopefully offloads are allowed again.

OK, Re-purposed my $22. Total points have to be evens cause who is going to take a drop goal this earlier in the season and by the time the last try is scored, all kickers are off the field to stop quad injuries.
