At that point he’s just taking up a roster spot.We also don't know what we offered either. Might not have been big money. Maybe Webby/Cappy intend on releasing some other players to try and sign some big names.
There are always some depth players in our top 30. I think Sironen is off contract this year, so my guess would be they were looking to replace him.At that point he’s just taking up a roster spot.
We have good starters at that position and it’s the only position we have quality younger guys coming through that are actually close to first grade ready.
And that’s ignoring the fact he’s just not that good anyway
Sironen gets replaced by the likes of Laban, Maiuu, Sifakula and that money goes towards prop signing for 2024There are always some depth players in our top 30. I think Sironen is off contract this year, so my guess would be they were looking to replace him.
I don't know why, personally I don't like the warriors recruiting back-rowers as it's one of the positions we do produce a lot of. I think Cappy/Webster would have their reasons though.
The weird thing about the article is the use of the word lucrative. I'd be thinking (for that player) close to minimum wage as opposed to lucrative...
To add on, everyone was disappointed in the Montoya signing at the time, since he was apparently (i don't follow other teams) average at the struggling bulldogs. He's pleasantly surprised.I like the signing tbh would of played a lock role to give Tohu Harris a spell got a feeling there will be a few players playing 2 positions threw out the season according to Barnett and Webster re interviews.. too me he plays under a very weak system may be different now with Sheens & Benji at the helm, I look back to his performance against Broncos RD20 where Tigers won, he set up a try, made a line break ran for 82m, made 50tackles with 1 miss. So the potentially is there then I look back at his junior career 2017 bursted on to the scene, 2018 won U20s player of the year, also played NSW u18s on debut season than played for NSW U20s. Upside also 24yo so still has plenty of time to learn his craft, gotta also add in a different environment people change quickly and he looks like one that has great work ethic, has a good attitude, doesn't shy away from effort. Downside talent isn't fully there yet but under a different coaching regime he may do great, Madge went to Tigers it definitely went backwards in terms of coaching as much as I love Madge and don't want to discredit him but something must of been really wrong under Madge
Wait and see what Trial 1 shows us with regards to the young guys.Seyfarth is a silly option given the number of second rowers we have and the number of up and comers.
He should be pleasantly surprised he was about to be out of work.To add on, everyone was disappointed in the Montoya signing at the time, since he was apparently (i don't follow other teams) average at the struggling bulldogs. He's pleasantly surprised.
Maybe. I do like how he's taken his opportunity though. He should be pleasantly surprised he was about to be out of work.
Second rower you say....🤔I see a young Fijian second rower at the tigers Kitione Kautoga is desperate to leave the club after debuting this year. They really rate him on their forum and his tigers player profile doesn’t seem to be there at their site now.
