The team we want to target is Wests. They have 4 Kiwi props but all behind Klemmer and Jo O and Twal. All big minute players.

Ligi Sao would be my no. 1 target if we can't poach any current nrl props, did we ever find out why Mooks stopped picking him?

It’s been hard to keep up what’s happening on our recruitment front when some people with some good oil like mixmasterreece said at one time there’s a chance we get Leniu, followed by him saying Liu is on the cusp of joining. Then David Long shoots that down. I wonder if there was any truth to a potential Liu transfer whether the cost the titans wanted made us decide to get 2 middles for that money, if the situation around the Kepu’s became what it has with one released and one injured that may have changed our requirements?

Must be quite attractive for a middle with limited chances at their club to come over to a potential starting spot with what we currently have. Someone like Guler, it would be potentially his final contract with his age and he’s pushed further down with the raiders recruiting more props.

Man that would be awesome if we could have Ah Mau back. He would be an upgrade on all but one of our props. We are likely to get a second string Queensland cup player though.

I was always a fan of Ah Mau but his ability to move laterally on defense had begun to rapidly decline in 2021 so one would assume it's continued to deteriorate. To start 2021 the bloke only missed 1 tackle in his first 12 games which was incredible considering he was playing 40 odd minutes. The following 6 games he had 8 misses, which isn't poor in itself, but there were numerous times he wasn't attributed with a miss because he couldn't get close enough to put a hand on the attacker.

We could do a lot worse than Ligi Sao. Interesting to note with regards to the comment on his fitness, when Sao played 30+ minutes at the Warriors we went 6W-2L (2W-0L as a starter). When he was >30 mins we went 7W-11L.
I always though he was underutilized which probably resulted in him trying too hard & forcing some wayward offloads when he did get a crack after long absences from first grade
