You had to feel positive about the tone of voice from Andrew Webster. Pretty much layed out the spine, which is solid in all fairness and makes a lot of sense. Shaun Johnson will be under the most pressure to keep his spot through the course of the season.
Coaches will not necessarily keep their previous responsibilities but will share the load.
He wants to install resilience into his players. Will discuss last year with the group and then flush it.
I’m looking forward to the instagram posts in the next few weeks of the extended squad beginning pre season training.
proof for mines on the paddock we have had good speakers in past who ain't delivered

Can someone remind me how Nov 1 works? Does it mean players not contracted for next season (2023) can be spoken to or players not contracted for the season after that (@024)?

Thanks in advance.

That was my understanding, so how can Penrith be on the verge of signing Otukolo?
My understanding is that while you can only make formal offers (i.e. tabling a contract) after November 1 - anyone is allowed to talk to anyone else, informally, at any time before then.

Someone mentioned Shaun Stevenson from the Chiefs a few weeks ago as being interested in a league switch. Says he's spoken to Wayne Bennet for 2024 and beyond.

Also an interesting part of the story

"There were about 24 of us at the Chiefs this year that were playing in the NRL fantasy and it's obviously one of those sports that you would love to give a crack," Stevenson said
.

Someone has to look in to this from our club. I haven't followed rugby for 3 or 4 years now so don't know who would be worth a punt, but surely there's a few diamonds in there that we could sign on 200-400k price range that would be fairly low risk/high reward

Ive watched limited npc, super rugby over the last 2 years but theres two Sullivan brothers both outside backs that I think would tear it up in League.
Not sure if the NZRU have got them earmarked for higher honours though.

Not just the Chiefs, there’s a few at the Canes and Blues that have a history in league and would entertain the idea if it became available. Problem is the Warriors are a bit tainted now but I’d suspect if NZ2 got in they’d have a few converts

Mikaele Tu’u is a good player, powerful, explosive and has a bit of go in him fitness wise (Picked for higher honours though). -
Also if we didn't have so many backrowers this guy would be worth it, I've seen him play well for Manly. Jack G

Jeeze what's going on with the Dragons. Seems to be absolute shambles - 2 stars of the future Sullivan and Sloan want releases, no one turns up for the end of year function and now Burgess and this guy has mentioned how much of a dick they think the coach is...

I know Brown didn't work out but i'm still glad he got the Warriors job instead of Griffin
