Recruitment 2022 Warriors Recruitment Discussion

I know we think the Warriors are Muppets at times and guilty as charged, but they have a professional backer with business nous, so I confidently believe it is covered
I think the proof will be in the pudding. If we have a couple of positive additions to our 2022 roster that makes us a playoff contender for next year you may be right!

Funny how we see him as No 3 half yet a top team like Penrith see him as potential.
Meantime we stick with the tried and failed duo of the past.
He’s their fourth string half. Be lucky to play 5 games.

Their forum think uncapped rookie Kurt Falls is ahead of him and will be first backup to Cleary/Luai

Might even be 5th string if May doesn’t get sacked, because at least he can defend

Potential? Just cheap labour to fill in while Cleary and Luai are on origin duties.
There’s plenty of players running around that they could of chosen to fill the hole they have, probably cheaper than SOS.

You still need to select a back up who you expect to perform - Cleary and Luai are away for at least 3 games with origin, plus any niggles or injuries through out the year.

Im glad SOS is getting an opportunity, I thought he showed potential and from where he started this year to where he finished, he clearly developed and got better. A year or two with Cleary and Luai and he’s still only what, 25 after that? I think he’ll actually go well and will hold down a starting spot once he matures a bit

Why not both?
We should def hold onto him. But the article is false info as always from mole. There is no way Xavier Tito Harris will be playing NRL first grade next year. He still has one more year left in school and only got a starting spot in that stacked Kelston first XV mid way through this year. But if we can secure him and Francis then I’d be a lot more comfortable with Chanel Harris-Tavita leaving because then we actually have some home grown gun halves prospects coming through. There is always the risk of us developing someone like Metcalf then he pulls a Townsend and buggers off back to Aus.

This is my wild hot take but I think Francis Manuleleua will be given a top 30 spot for 2023 straight out of school. We’ve seen it quite abit this year with teams giving top 30 spots to school kids, Eels with Penesini, Roosters with Sualii and Manly with Koula. I think our four halves will be Shaun Johnson, Walsh/Manu, Metcalf and Francis

No chance the Panthers see him as anything different to how we saw him...a capable fill in at best. By all accounts we offered him an extension and he turned it down. Cant blame the guy taking a similar role at Penrith but dont think this should be seen as a Warriors misstep.

I was listening to Bloke in a Bar podcast, a great listen for the drive to and from work. They talked a lot about Manu - possible landing spot (stay or Dolphins / Warriors) and his awesome qualities.
They thought they saw him wanting to play FB more than 5/8.
I wonder what his preference is and whether it gives the Dolphins leverage over us to snap him up with a guaranteed No.1 stating spot?

No! Because we will move that little coke head to five eight.

If the reports/rumours are true of the Dolphins wanting to throw 1.4mil at Ponga, and Munster on their wishlist aswell, then I cant see them wanting Manu on big money.
I think Manu will come with us or stay at the Roosters.

Dolphins also interested in Brandon Smith

"Martin confirmed to The Gold Coast Bulletin that the Titans were the first club to table an offer to Smith, followed by the Dolphins and Cowboys. One other team is interested."

Now that is possitive thinking.
