It's so wrong that he's allowed to get straight to work pursuing our targets knowing exactly what we're offering and what we can afford to offer. Complete joke by the NRL to allow this, should definitely be a cooling off period.

period, with clubs allowed to begin talks and submit offers to players who are off contract in 12 months' time.
It means that O'Sullivan will be discussing deals with prospects who he had originally earmarked for the Warriors.
"[There are] some that are certainly going to cross over, there is no doubt about it," O'Sullivan told Newstalk ZB. "Then there are some that are going to come into play that weren't in play."
It's a spanner in the works for the Warriors.
Guess we don't get the same courtesy as roosters as far as a heads up that we'll be targeting Manu even though he (POS) hasn't been with the rosters in years.

Why didn't we push for a handshake non compete deal with him. We could have supplied a list of 5 to 7 names and said don't teach these names to POS.
I mean we could have said no to releasing him without 4 weeks notice and perhaps we should have played that card. We were too nice in letting him go.
Certainly very unethical of him to use his knowledge of the Warriors targets to diddle the warriors out of a prospect.
This situation would only happen to the Warriors.

Boom rookie on radar of several clubs

Half a dozen clubs are chasing the next big thing out of New Zealand - an explosive running halfback called Xavier Tito-Harris.

The youngster is only 17 but good judges say he will be playing in the NRL next season - the only question is where.

The talented playmaker is currently under contract to the Warriors and the club have tabled a new deal to keep him in Auckland long term.

But several Aussie clubs have also made contact with Tito-Harris and the rookie and his family have some serious thinking to do.

Class playmakers in the NRL are in short supply and as a result, club are prepared to gamble on the teenager with big money deals.

"Congratulation to these five boys for being selected in the Auckland U16’s and Auckland U18’s team.

Our boys that were selected were Xavier Tito-Harris, JP White, Jasiah Takerei-Neilson and Elam Payne (KBHS 1st XIII League Captain).

The boys played on 31st October and both teams won (16s = 62-4 and 18s = 27-16). You can catch all the match replays at aucklandleague.co.nz."

I'm not sure there is a lot we could have done with POS.
At least in NZ, it would be huge stopping someone earning a living in their specialist occupation anywhere in NZ . No matter what was in their contract.
We had to dismiss him immediately, just as you would with a sales rep.
We can only stand him down if we continued to pay him. I assume we are getting every last cent out of the NRL to help us stay in Brisbane. There's no way we can stymie their brand new club doing that and expect a warm welcome at NRL hq .
And we can't stop Wayne and co approaching players
So we move on.

And as he said, a mate that helped him out in a dark time, or words to the effect in Brown. I’d like to see someone like Flanagan come into the fold as an assistant. Just someone with credentials of a title and a winning roster.
Looking at the Warriors playing and coaching roster I don’t think anyone has been involved with a GF …. actually Shaun Johnson.

Flanagan would be an ideal addition to the coaching team.

If this 17 yr old Xavier kid is as good as they say then why are we not bringing him up ourselves instead of letting him go to another club. A year under Shaun is the best for everyone.

Don't they have gardening leave for recruitment officers?. I reckon we messed up letting him go and him being able to start for dolphins straight away, it ain't right.

I would have thought he would have some non compete clauses in his contract, especially in respect to poaching existing players.

Targets is a different matter.

POS was only going to be short term. Hopefully, the club has been smart enough to pick his brains and contacts whilst he was at the club.

I still think the club needs a replacement in the centres for Hiku especially if Brownie is planning to use Aitken in the centre next year.
