State of Origin 2022 State of Origin

Amazing game. I feel for most of the NSW team, they defended like demons.

DCE had his best ever origin game (that I've seen anyway). Ponga was outstanding as well.
Dude I thought DCE was past it and was worried about this series.

He put it on in game 1 and 3.

What an absolute cracker game of footy and series for that matter. Absolutely unreal entertainment.

Clearly NSW arn't a soft side because Origin doesn't allow for it, but have always felt they lean on the side of pretty footy between the two teams. Whereas if Qld can get you down in a dogfight for long enough they seem to revel in that type of game and eventually get the better of those exchanges. Nevermind the fact that winning a decider at Suncorp is like needle in a haystack stuff.

Just when I was pulling away from origin.. fuckers pulled me right back in.

It was definitely one for the ages. The intensity from start to finish.

Got to see the biff. A few knockouts.

Best of all, we didn’t get a trigger happy ref. He let the game flow.

That was a quality game.

Let’s hope the Warriors can back this up Friday night. 😝!

Man the start of that game was nuts with players getting taken off for HIA's. They weren't minor collisions and we need to check you either.

Seeing a lot of posts online with people criticising Cleary/Tedesco/Burton/insert other NSW players name here...

From this Qld fan's perspective, every NSW player last night played hard, and played well* in a hostile environment. None should be embarrassed or insulted about their onfield performance. Huge display of guts in the second half on their tryline.

*I'll caveat this with Luai standing over KOed Cobbo. Really don't like the side of his game where he loves to spray people from a position of dominance. Hate the various times he's laughed at struggling opponents, pointed at them and laughing after making errors. Good player, just needs to be less of a dick on the field.

It’s not new to his game either, can recall last year or even 2020 when he seemingly deliberately stomped on Nikorima when he was tidying up a loose ball in the in goal. Filthy little prick. Funnier is the back stories of him supporting Queensland growing up and how NZ and Samoa would be his preference over NSW, think he will play for Samoa though.

Man what a game that was, the intensity and efforts on efforts were out the gate.

Best rep game ive seen Ponga play, he was busting tackles and looked dangerous everytime he touched the ball, Holmes, Hunt, Carrigan, big Tino...outstanding.

Thought old giraffe neck was the difference tho, putting those huge kicks in when they were going nowhere in their sets, and then the kicking early turning NSW around and getting the errors off the back of them.

Thought Tedesco tried his hardest and looked the most likely out of all the blues, tho i thought the Penrith connection let them down a bit tonight and they wouldve expected more from them, those passes from Luai and Chrichton we're costly as fuck and Cleary just couldnt stamp himself on that game.

Cant believe Wighton didnt play and im sure there we're better options in other position too, pressure should come on Freddy after this.

Gotta also add 10 minutes in the bin is worth seeing some bash again....loved it.

With all those head knocks at the start of the game im sooo glad we're not reffed like yawnion, they wouldve been sending players off right from the first minute!

Stephen Crichton was Qld's best player in game 1 and again last night.

The difference was the Panther's players not being able to get away with the shit they do at club level like dragging tackled players along the ground for 5m towards their own goal line and marginal 3rd man in flops which Penrith are the masters of. Yeo was still allowed to stand in front of the NSW play the ball and obstruct the marker defence, it's one tactic that shits me but the refs don't seem to know what to do with. They're all small indiscretions in isolation but done repetitively throughout a game, they collectively can kill off the oppositions momentum.

Luai is a cock. One of NSW's best last night though. Cam Murray will be concussed out of the game if he keeps tackling like that.
