Haha fucking hate him more than the Panthers club. Need Dallin Watene-Zelezniak to move back to the Panthers to make him look shit.
Good on him though, does come across as a good sort.
He’s probably my favorite Australian player- just a machine.
Just the type Ivan loves- tough, modest, super consistent- the Simon mannering of fullbacks.
Glad he got it.

Btw in Australia good sort means good looking.

Well done to the Panthers the best team the last few years and 2 premierships to show for it. Not a bad record after dominating the last 3 years. 2 premierships and a Grand Final loss.

The scary thing if they have someone coming through to replace the players they have lost they are going to be hard to beat 2023 as well. Even if they can't replace within it means there is only one or two positions to recruit for. They will be more enticing club seeing as that they are winning.

A lot of talk last night on how they compare to other clubs from the last 20 years or so.

Only the Roosters recently managed to go back to back.

Melbourne dominated and made a lot of Grand Finals but also got upset at the final stage and had that ugly 40-0 against Manly.

The Roosters 2000-2004 made a lot of Grand Finals but only managed to get one premiership.

So Penrith are making a compelling case.

Anyone else think To’o should have got the Clive Churchill over Dylan Edwards? To’o was huge scored tries and was a machine, sometimes the commentators get this picture in their head and over inflate a player. I think Edwards is amazing but believe To’o along with Leota were the standard setters and dominated the game last night.

Is it ever not a spine player or superstar backrower/centre?

Good team… but man they are an easy team to really dislike the way they carry on!

More likely alternate reality, Cleary SNR gets poached by another Aus club within a couple of years if we continue success or we continue mid to lower regular playoffs without ever being a serious threat. Cleary JNR either leaves with his dad or stays and becomes another Lino. Higano,Carlos etc.
The ‘multiple premiership dynasty’ fantasy that Warriors fans seem to think would have been a certainty had he stayed doesn’t really do much good. Would probably have been in a better spot but we are more comparable to the Tigers than Penrith

Cleary was already here for 5 years as head coach. Unless we got a premiership before Nathan debuted in 2016 (assume he debuts the same year) he would of been coaching our side for 10 years. A long time by NRL standards.

A lot could of happened in that time. Your scenarios or while Owen Glenn was here he may have decided he wanted a winner and we moved on and things played out in a similar fashion. Nathan may have decided to move away from his parents and got picked up by another club.

It still took until 2021/22 for the Panthers to win their premierships. Would everyone have put up with the same coach until then?

The Panthers premierships are also not just down to those two.

Important to note that Nathan Cleary only played league for 2 seasons at Mt Albert when he was about 9 and 10. He actually played soccer before going back to Australia and was part of the Sacred Heart College 1st XI. Chances are if he stayed on in NZ he'd still be playing the sport...

Why is our half back playing for the Phoenix would be a total Warriors thing.

It would be interesting to see why he was playing soccer while living in New Zealand. Were all of his mates playing soccer, not happy with the coaching or setup in league, or too small at that age.

I've been watching some training videos of the boxer Vasiliy Lomachenko. He does a lot of cross training. Commentators in his fights used to mention how he'd do dancing. It sounds funny but when your doing dancing, wrestling, soccer, different hand eye co-ordination exercises it builds up a lot of skills, can work off both feet and keep your balance. My kids are wanting to try a lot of sports. It might be expensive for my wallet but it might be good long term. If they listen.
