Recruitment 2021 Warriors Recruitment DISCUSSION

I am worried for 2022 - Don't think we will sign anyone good for next season. Maybe 2023 we might get some decent players, but the next 5 years are looking like no Finals footy for the Warriors. The players just don't have competition within the squad to make players want to perform. They only lose their spot when they are injured or suspended, such as Chanel Harris-Tavita. Only way the players will put in an effort is if they think they will be dropped for performance, and not injury or suspension.
F**K me the seasons finished and you are still bashing Harris-Tavita give it up.

Doesn't help the fact our coach isn't using him properly. Earlier in the season when he was utilized properly, we saw hints of what he is capable of... i still have hopes of him being an impact player off the bench.

This is only the first stint of a sly recruitment drive to poach our players. i expect more to come which is what im (and others) worried about.
Seems to all be a perfect storm. NRL thanks the Warriors for their hardship over the last couple of years, let’s us strike up a deal with a club, that obviously were on the cards as an expansion team and leaves us massively exposed. I know they can’t stop PO’S from joining an opposition team but we’ve had nothing to show for our hardship from the NRL. I’m not sure what they could do admittedly, but if there’s no gentlemanly handshake among mates between Brown and PO’S and he targets our squad, all the good he’s done, to me won’t mean shit.

What if we sign our whole squad of 30 to contracts that all end in 2024. That way we can get POS back saying he can rebuild our total roster. It will be just like he wants at the Dolphins.
Was I right in understanding in the Cameron George article yesterday that PO’S wanted to stay on if the team was to stay in Aussie?

The only thing we can do is win a premiership. That’ll piss a lot of those off

Ugh.. I gotta stop visiting this forum… makes me miserable everytime I come here looking for good news only to see the opposite … 🤷🏻‍♂️

#lostthefaith
Yes the forum is miserable, but if you read it from page 1 to the end on game day before kickoff, the usual Warriors loss will cheer you up :)

Feels like they’re always a step ahead of us. I’m probably paranoid but right as we’re looking at putting our pathways together again, they are talking about a draft system for juniors. Admittedly l haven’t read too much of how it would work.

That will never get off the ground. The NRL wants clubs like Penrith etc to spend millions of dollars developing juniors. As soon they bring in a draft system then the NRL will have to spend those millions doing it themselves.

No I think they were saying that he went in and pleaded his case that he wants to stay in QLD…. meaning he wanted to go to Redcliffe

1995-2021 were not our years 2022 was not our year, 2023, 2024, 2025........... 2056 was not our year, 2057 The Warriors leading the grand final by 20 points with 5 minutes to go and the Planet blows up :) Not our year :(
Lol, I don't want to wait for the possibility of a premiership.

I hope Cameron George is downplaying the urgency needed to replace POS with the right person.
A recruitment/salary cap whiz is hugely important (as shown by the Dolphins speed getting POS) .
A group of people operating ad hoc without a central manager is worrying.

Mate I’m sitting up past midnight on Oct 31st with a bowl of popcorn in one hand and frantically refreshing news websites on my phone in the other. If we don’t have confirmation by 00:05 November 1st I’m throwing my toys out the cot 😂
Depending where you are either in NZ don't forget the time difference. You'll need to wait until at least 2 a.m.

But if you are in Australia all goods.

You seriously believe, given they now have our recruitment manager they wont be targeting the likes of Walsh for a return
I seriously think they won't be targeting Walsh. If he is succesful his next contract will be for marque money. They will want their marque signings good to go for 2023 for both promotional and performance purposes.

By 2024 their marque spots will all be taken on multi year deals.

FFS go get a snickers or something.

Adam Hartigan, sounds like he had done some good work with the lower grades at The Tigers.

Hard pass for me! The roosters dont let go of good ones, tigers then picked him up and he’s been in charge of some ludicrous signing decisions at the Tigers. Loss of POS hurts but definitely not surprising. Agree with whoever said weve been lucky to have him for as long as we did. Over the history of the club weve still been able to make some great signings (Price, Wiki, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Harris, Tate,) all without POS being there…not all doom and gloom looking forward. I just hope whatever Gould and POS attempted to set up with Blair, Jones and Iro in regards to pathways is actually seen thru. To me thats where we’ll miss POS oversight the most.
