Theres been lots of talks about the halves merry go-round currently with Pearce, Brooks and the rest of them.

There’s an article about Corey Norman being looked at for the Knights, as well as Scott Drinkwater, given that he will likely be behind Townsend, Dearden and Hammer at fb.

Depending on the situation with Metcalf, if he doesn’t come here I’d be pretty stoked to get Drinkwater. Has a good kicking and running game, somewhat erratic but jeeze he can carve up at times
I have been drinking from the drinkwater tap for the last three years.

I don’t know why his own team and fans don’t rate him. The cowboys fans don’t like him when I go on their forum. I think they don’t like the fact he doesn’t show up sometimes.
But for my money he is quite consistent.
I hope we are in this conversation. If we end up shipping out Chanel Harris-Tavita and getting back drinkwater that would be sweet.
As a final note just because I can. I think Chanel Harris-Tavita played decent this year. I also think his defence is, and this will be hard to swallow for some, quite underrated on this site. His defence is not just good or solid. He is the best defensive half in the nrl and I could make a case that there are not any centre’s much better than him at defence. He would be for me the best back I have seen in my life at putting a defensive hit on. His hits are simply stunning and breathtaking and they lift the whole team and terrify the opposition.
Some people say his defence shouldn’t count in evaluating him as a half. I disagree. I don’t think he deserves many points for his defence but does deserve some credit just like kodi gets points subtracted for being complete and utter shit at defence.
Chts defence is at Demi God level. One of his hits this year made me physically jump out of my seat. He stopped a 5 on 3 overlap by knocking the opponent into the northern hemisphere.
All that pumping him up, drinkwater is better. I think we should be working the phone and leveraging Chanel Harris-Tavita who is most definitely a tradeable asset that multiple teams would like to have. A year in an Australian system and they can definitely Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad him to another level.

Chanel Harris-Tavita is in a australian system, coach is australian, trainers are australian, half the team is australian, they live in australia! You don't get more australian the the Australian Warriors. If a kiwi Warriors player gets arrested in Brisbane next year for Cocain use, does he become a 501?

Ok I stand corrected
Good points didn’t think of it that way

The Warriors are preparing to launch an ambitious multimillion-dollar signing blitz that could have serious ramifications for two of Sydney’s most powerful clubs

Sydney Roosters centre Joey Manu and Parramatta lock Marate Niukore have been in the Warriors’ sights for some time, but from Monday they can table official offers to the pair

It has the potential to send the player market into a tailspin. Manu is likely to command a deal in the vicinity of $1 million. Niukore is likely to receive offers upwards of $500,000

Both would expect deals of at least three years, maybe four. All told, the combined offers could be worth as much as $6 million if they are for four years

The Roosters have upped talks with Manu this week and there have been whispers that they have offered the centre a deal worth as much as $800,000 a season

Yet the Warriors, and potentially the Wests Tigers, can give him what the Roosters can’t — a place in the spine and an ability to get his hands more frequently on the ball

The Roosters showed with Latrell Mitchell that they won’t be dragged into a bidding war. When Mitchell haggled over their offer, they simply walked away and left him to South Sydney

The same goes for Parramatta and Niukore, who also has interest from St George Illawarra. The Eels backrower is among a slew of Parramatta players entering the final year of their deals but few are in as much demand as Niukore, with the Warriors at the front of the queue

Rooster are not and will not offer 800k for him to play centre
That article is from his agent to milk up his offer

Last season all Chanel Harris-Tavita offered was some decent defence at times however he’s not close to the best defensive half in the comp. That title would go to Dylan Brown, who otherwise also had a very ordinary 2021. As for Drinkwater, he can certainly set up a try however his defence is awful, often doesn’t even look interested in tackling.

There is a big difference between being able to put a big hit on and being a great defender. Pita Hiku could hit with the best of then when he out a big hit on but he was hardly a great defender.

Was just looking at the roosters forum. One of the posters reckons the roosters management are not confident of keeping Manu as they say we’re offering $1.1 mil, and the roosters have another signing on the way. Also said on other news Tedesco is getting the roosters legal team to investigate a possible defamation case against the girl who accused him of a racial slur, and her brother is a souths supporter.

You’re going to love Metcalf then
Can’t say I’ve noticed his defence either way, stats suggest only 2 missed tackles in 39 attempts, small sample size however that is pretty good unless he’s doing an Ah Mau special and not even getting in position to make tackles.

They supposedly had 800k to offer Latrell back when Friend, Cordner, Morris brothers etc were still on the books. With the way Politis speaks of Manu and his family I wouldn’t think 800 would be a stretch

Well there goes our shot for Joey, no more pos…
These signings could be our parting gift. They are kiwis, so that’s an advantage for us. Hopefully we’ve got the coaches to do the job. If we’re beginning to put in place a good pathway system, the team we’re about to acquire should start seeing the fruits of it within a couple of years. Some players in our system have big futures. Would imagine it’s amicable with the club employing him after a ban. Understandable with the opportunity to stay in Aussie past 2022.
