Absolute top wingers are only worth about 500k, with decent wingers around 300k, and young up and comers even less than that.

I cant see any club willing to gamble more than 200k on someone like Fusitua, who’s only played a handful of games in the last two years and has looked shit in those games.

Best case scenario is he turns a corner and Shaun Johnson lights a fire underneath him. Worst case is he burns a 500k hole in our pocket for the next two years

Evans on the move again

Kane Evans' days in the NRL appear to be numbered with the Warriors prepared to throw money into the pot to get him a contract in the UK.

The former Roosters and Eels prop joined the Kiwi club on big money this season but failed to fire and the Warriors now want to cut their losses.

Evans has been a disappointment on and off the field and no rival NRL clubs are showing any interest.

Big and strong, the Fijian international could still be a force in Super League and several British clubs are on the lookout for a go-forward middle man.

If the Storm crack down hard on Cheese for this, we should take a shot at him. Only increases our chances. Literally couldn't care less about what they did, apart from the idiocy of getting caught. Absolute joke they could have drank a whole bottle of spirits and wouldn't get in any trouble, but that's the state of things and they did get caught.

Their loss our gain, hit him up.

I wouldn't mind seeing Kane one last time in a warriors jersey, farewell match where he just goes out on a high and parades his greatest hits in one game, with swear words on his wrists, fists of fury and maybe a few rag dolls thrown in.

I don't want him anywhere near the team next year but what he has provided for us this year is a bit of light entertainment when the season was beyond our reach. It is actually quite funny how he got sent off twice in one game and suspended in subsequent games for fighting.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are expecting to find out in the next couple of days whether Ash Taylor has agreed to join them.

The five-eighth, who was on $1 million a season at the Titans, is without a club for next year.

The Warriors are believed to have offered him around a quarter of that money to sign a one-year deal and an answer is expected soon.

There are other clubs interested in Taylor, including the Raiders, and he will have to accept that he won’t be able to pick up a contract anywhere near as good as his previous one.

The Warriors are quietly optimistic, with the fact that they’ll be based in Redcliffe next year regarded as something which is in their favour.

Regardless of whether Taylor joins, the Warriors have no plans to give Chanel Harris-Tavita an early release, even though the young playmaker wants to test the market from November 1, for a contract beginning in 2023.

The Warriors are interested in the Sharks’ five-eighth Luke Metcalf as a long-term signing.

Metcalf is contracted to the Sharks for 2023 and at this stage, it doesn’t look like they will give him an early release, although things can change between now and the start of next season.

If the club are serious about signing Taylor we should offer him a free trip to Canberra to seal the deal. https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/7449222/canberra-braces-for-up-to-50-millimetres-of-rain/The Canberra climate and cuddles with Sticky is bound to send any player running .

In the past we would be upping our offer with the Raiders coming in, but you get the feeling POS will hold his nerve and let the chips fall where they may.

Will be interesting to see what happens with halves depth if we don't sign Taylor and Metcalf proves to not be a 2022 option

Just wondering about this apparent signing we have on the cards - have any current players I.E players who still have contracts (so, not the Ash Taylor situation) signed on with different clubs during the finals series?

I’m not sure if players and other clubs are holding off announcing things til the Grand Finals been and gone, or if the reason that we haven’t heard anything is because the player we’ve signed is from Rabbitohs or Panthers (unlikely imo).

One big advantage we have is that Taylor will not have to relocate.

We definitely won't be getting Cheese, there was an article a few days ago regarding his parents. That he brought them to Australia to live because he couldn't get back to Waiheke because of the border situation.

They did say that the Warriors were an option but unlikely, so it has to be one of the other Aussie based teams.
