cheers. the real story is when in the game, at what stage in the set and where on the field these are awarded. Also when the opposition simply milked as opposed to our actions.

Interesting, so overall we were actually awarded more six agains for us than against us yet the last game where we were on the positive side of the ledger was way back in round 12!
So what happened halfway through the year?
Did the refs change the way they were officiating it or did the other teams adapt to the interpretation and we didn’t?
Really was a season of 2 halves looking at them stats.

In all the games that we lost the 6 Again count thereafter we also lost the PCM stat (with the exception of the Bulldogs game)

Take out the games against the Storm and Panthers (top 2) and the Bulldogs (bottom team). These are the fringe games the refs can even out the penalty counts…

And what do we have against middle of the road teams that we are competing against for the top 8? Penalty count suddenly lost 69-95 WOW. 6 against lost 67-71…

Reffed out of the season when you dig deeper?

Good analysis. The botom of the Penalties Awarded & Possession rankings look near identical to the points ladder. Seeing as the majority of penalties conceded are by the team without possession that makes sense

Benjamin Disraeli (a Pom) said:

There are lies, damned lies and statistics.

It is a bit like gerrymandering in politics, the total vote doesn't count it is where the votes are counted.

Just two examples, we were screwed in the game when Chad got taken out and we were screwed last week as well.

I put last week down to incompetence.

The rest I don't know, the most obvious reason is we don't have supporters screaming in the press...and the system is stuffed.

Make of these what you want
Do you happen to have a tally of who in the team conceded the 6-Agains? I tried to keep track of them throughout the season but my numbers appear to be way too low

I've uploaded another file showing an analysis of penalties, ruck infringements & inside 10 infringements for each player

The original file is slightly amended to fix an error

If I remember correctly at about Round 11 Jazz's discipline was going great & I was constantly defending him on Facebook. Geez those numbers skyrocketed for the remainder of the season & he ended up being done for some form of indiscretion every 53 minutes. Not too sure what to make of it? I know vs the Dragons his 2 Ruck Infringements were smart decisions in the context of the game (one on our line which led to a Dragons mistake off a slow POB & the other attempting to wind the clock down in the last 30 seconds). He's also one of only a few players who brings linespeed but his 6 10m infringements represents 27% of our total & he didn't feature in 2 games.

Just looking at injuries for the warriors this year and durability in players.

W Egan
B Afoa
K Nikorima
J Tavaga
R T S and L A Mau if they didn't leave.

Played 20 plus games this year, interesting that a lot of people think egan is injured a lot but in fact he played most games this year. I think the club must look into science and training to see why this is so. If the club can churn out 20 plus games from this same lot plus!

A F Blake
M Lodge
R Walsh
S Johnson or C H Tavita (not confident)
T Harris
J Curren
E Katoa

Then there is no reason with this engine room at full capacity they should not be super competitive. I feel the club has to put a lot of work into durability.
